I grew up in a house where my mom and dad were married. My father gave my mother 49 married years and 52 years total before she passed away several years ago. Over the course of my life my father reminded me many times to never be a step dad. My older siblings always treated me and my youngest sister different because we were not from mom's first marriage. My older siblings don't have anything to do with my father after mom died regardless of him buying her a couple of houses and keeping her in jewelry. He's broken and hurt that they don't ever come check on him. I saw all this and definitely said that will NEVER be me!!!

A real woman would work it out with the child's father. 9 times out of 10 they broke up because she was being petty. Not abuse, he brought home STDs, or he was unwilling to work. It was that, she wasn't happy or she thought she could do better (and didn't).
