In my mind I look like Kipchoge when I run. Do you imply I might be wrong?

What an insightful point! We might think we're leaning forward at a steeper angle when we're actually just correcting for leaning back when we increase speed.
@kjlkathandjohn6061Ай бұрын
Proper lean: you will feel like you are fully upright, as when you are running in place, but if you were to have a side view video, it would show you falling slightly forward from your ankles. Running is jumping on ground that is moving under you to your rear; If you tilt so you feel yourself leaning forward you can feel tripping start, and if you lean backwards then you can begin running in place or even run backwards. Return to a feeling of tall and upright (slight forward lean but feeling like no lean) and jump a little higher if you want to stretch out your stride length.

Thank you for sharing. I have lots to learn and this really helps me. I guess I need to set up a camera and record myself to see what I’m doing.

As you described, I always had the feeling I was leaning back when we started with the faster track workouts after cross country. In my experience, this goes away once I start using my hip flexors more strongly to quickly get my legs in front of my hips quicker during the stride.

I'm well hung so it's very difficult to not lean forward when I run or walk.

This is one part of running form that still eludes me. I try to focus on a leaning slightly from my hips, but I rarely if ever experience the sensation of falling. Just not sure what I’m not doing correctly.

@@luimulder3768 I have. And I still can’t pinpoint the flaw. The only thing I can think of is my center of gravity is still too high.

Think about the lean coming from the ankles instead of the hips

@@PureNRG2 yes the lean comes from the ankles. Let us know how that worked

A video about finger positioning of the hands, please sir! Should they be completely loose or a bit tight or not and the difference that goes along with it.

I feel like my waist sinks when I go faster... this could be related to the fact that my strides are getting longer as indicated by Coros. As for the lean I feel like I need to lean background to maintain the pace since I have a tendency to lean far forward when I increase the pace

Hey Fredrik, great video thank you. In my case I thought I looked like Sir Mo Farah when I run, but after video observation the reality is I look more like Joe Biden jogging to the bakery to get a loaf of bread. Work to do.

If you’re 15 and beginning to run then it’s worth adjusting your form and tweaking it. Majority of times the way people run is how they have run for a big chick of their lives and that is their structure. They can try to change it but unless you’re a major athlete and not suffering from injuries, best to stick to your running form if it’s comfortable to you. If it ain’t broken…

True facts. Thanks for posting this comment. People don't seem to understand that Noah Lyles is the only human who has ever ran and therefore there is no evidence of runners running fast without a lot of leaning. Oh well, off for a walk. I wish all of us were as lucky as Noah Lyles, the only human who has ever run.
