Hey...great vid. Many thanks for posting. I have a Ronson Whirlwind that needs new wadding and re-wicking...closed tank though. Damn!

I'll put the Whirlwind video on my list of projects. Until then, Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqiug4yQo7NlhJY The lighter tank is bigger, other than that all the principles are the same for replacing the wick and wadding in your Whirlwind.✌️

Can i use this in my mosda lighter. I put petrol in it, and now need new felt, as didn't realise its wrong to use petrol ect, anyway it wouldn't light even though it had a good spark? I'm new to all this lighter business, I've managed to amass 3 in as many months, all sold as working but they didn't so I'm learning how to mend them all :-). Thanks it's really interesting so are your videos.

What is Zippo wading made of. I wonder. Seems to be more durable than the cotton from the grocery store. Exact composition of the Zippo wading as much of a secret as the Zippo flint wheel? Not sure. I guess the role of the felt pad is to keep the wading tightly crammed together and to shield the tank from dirt. But that's just my guess. ;) Anyways, I think one without felt pad gives it more of a retro vintage feel. ❤

Hi! Recently I bought some vintage lighters (IMCO Triplex 6600, IMCO Safety 4200, and a Seigneur). Is it better to use natural wool instead of cotton as wadding? When I pulled out the original wadding doesn't looks like cotton. Greetings from Uruguay!
@DependableFlame Жыл бұрын
Some may be better than others but any absorbent material should work. Some collectors like to keep all materials the same but they are your lighters so do what makes you happy. Glad to have you along for the ride from Uruguay my friend.✌️

I use a zippo as my 'daily driver' Everytime I open it, the insert moves up just a smidge, but when you strike it it moves down. I understand, that that slight movement is common and normal, because I owned multiple Zippos and they behave the same. Is there a way to increase friction in-between the insert and the casing without damaging anything?

I’m glad you said that ZF, I was going to mention your bag trick to Mantas.✌️
