I just wanted to say that the man that I care about I've known him since I was 16 we liked each other back then but neither one of us knew it it but now here I am 71 and hes 75 and when we really started talking again because I've been talking to him on and off for 10 years I express how much I liked him and thought that we would really be good together he backed off so I took your advice and I became distant I didn't text him I told him I didn't like to text he started calling me now he calls me every day sometimes twice A-day and what I had told him is that 1 time when I didn't answer this text he said oh you're not talking to me and I texted him back and said I look I don't sit here by my phone and wait for you too Text me and I said I'm not in love with you I do like you but I have things to do I don't sit by the phone every day and wait for you and ever since then he has changed and I've just become more myself and more relaxed around him and Now he is coming to visit he lives 2 States away and I just want to thank You for teaching me to stand in my own power To be distant at times and to be myself

However, Ive observed that men who often have these strong 'control traits' are oftentimes 'Avoidants' (particularly Dismissive Avoidants). Everything you've described in this video reveals the dance between myself and my boyfriend of 4yrs(I just discovered he started out as a Fearful Avoidant but he's transformed to a Dismissive avoidant 😏)... How will I be able to sustain this 'challenge strategy' long-term to a lifetime partnership, after we get married and he keeps up with his hot and cold attitude in our relationship?... A guy will not approach a woman unless he finds her attractive so yes, at first they all look for sex. But nobody speak about the fact that us, women need and crave sex as much as men. Our bodies are not a card to play with to get a guy, control him or punish him. Why nobody talk about our bodies having needs! So, speaking from my experience, 30 years old, never been in real relationship. Mostly because every time I get to know a guy better, less I like him and therefore, attraction fades and when they keep pursuing, they become pushy and it pushes me away. So my point is, had I never gone for it in early stage of dating when I actually liked the guy and been attracted to him, I'd have been a virgin until this very moment and as I mentioned before: yes, I want love and intimacy the best but I also want and need sex in it's pure form. I have finally got to the point where I can have physical satisfaction without getting emotionally attached and hurting after it didn't work out. There was, so far only one person that I had strong feelings for and it's been 3 years now since we split. I miss him and being in his arms again is desire but even tho I had many opportunities to do so, because I am emotional attached to him I am not able to just sleep with him and go on with my life. So when it comes to him, I stay away. It is very rare for me to fall in love so waiting for love to enter my life so I can experience physical pleasure would be a life filled with frustration.
