Yeah the handguns were balanced great in this game. Most classes were good. LMGs, handguns, snipers, shotguns, etc. It was mainly just ARs that sucked. A lot of them looked the same as each other or had similar stats, so played almost the same. We had way too many ARs. They added a new AR basically every season. Besides S3 when they added a new battle rifle. The battle rifles were balanced well amongst each other but I don’t think we needed even more rifles (on top of ARs, marksman rifles and sniper rifles). It was just too many.

It needs to be mentioned that they made pistols viable on their own in this game + the quick draw mechanic. Also the other little stuff adding more layer to movement like vaulting over the higher ledges and dolphin dive are a welcome addition. Scopes in this game were also done really well and were given more character with reticles and I loved that the game made you come out of your comfort zone and try out other weapons to unlock different attachments.

I personally didn't like the weapon attachment unlocking process. It forced people to use pretty awful weapons to level up for hours just to use the gun they want. For people like me, who have limited time to play, I don't want to spend my 2 sessions a week not enjoying the game because I've had to use a shite weapon. Not bad once ranked drops but until then, it's not enjoyable.
@bbobson2k Жыл бұрын
@@jamessharpe2625and at least based on the beta MW3 has the same ridiculous level up mechanics. Sure all the MW2 guns are carrying over leveled to whatever state you have them in but I'm going all in with the new MW3 guns. So yep it's going to be a slow crawl to level them up after the launch. Upside is from the beta I know what early attachments unlocked while leveling up are valuable. 👍

I loved the balancing between pistols. They reminded me a lot of Black Ops 2 since they filled specific niches that fit every player instead of there being 1 dominant choice. The P890 was very competitive but a competent player with another pistol could easily compete.

Personally, I loved how good the game looked. The guns and weapon audio as well as the vehicle audio was very good. Shame the footstep audio was so inconsistent, perhaps with so many audio items available in the game, the servers and the engine wouldn't allow more than a certain amount to be played at any given time. I hope in future games and better tech, the devs will allow a larger player bubble for audio cues.

I really enjoyed the flow of maps in this game. Modern Warfare 2019 already did a great job with giving the player many different areas to reach and explore, and ways to break the map flow, and I feel like Modern Warfare II only improves on that. The new mantling system allows your character to mantle higher up obstacles, and albeit it's very slow, I do really enjoy having it. And I agree with you on the camo system. Camos are something I look forward to in Call of Duty, and I'm always upset when they don't add in any post-launch camos and just focus on dumb blueprints with skins on them that could easily just be camos (*cough* Damascus blueprint from MWII *cough*). However, this game really delivered with offering even more camos for the player to get, with EVERY post-launch weapon coming bundled with new ones, alongside other events, such as the Raid events, offering the player camos as rewards.

@toughluck8012 Жыл бұрын
It seemed to me that it was overly complicated and annoying. I much prefer the classic unlock at level x or for post launch guns to complete a small-medium challenge. The weapon families thing just seemed like a lazy way to rehash essentially the same gun with minor changes, instead of just making up a different gun with its own identity. I also hated that you had to grind half way through one gun's levels just to use another one. And I find the argument that it forces people to experiment with other guns more completely invalid because i would have used every gun for the camo challenges anyways. This just felt restrictive and forced for no reason.

Something that might be a bit weird to explain, but I did really like about this game - It rewarded game knowledge more than previous titles have. Especially on, say, the Warzone/DMZ side. Knowing the effectiveness of different guns at different ranges, being able to tell what your enemy is using before you get into the fight, and even on the multiplayer side, this game really rewarded taking a second to think things through and move more tactically instead of just dead sprinting around the map. I feel that this title did more for people who improve through exploiting superior tactical knowledge rather than their reaction time, which is more of the opposite of what previous titles have done. Used to just be if you were faster, you would win in most cases. I hardly found myself sprinting around the maps in this game, mostly just walking, and I maintained very good stats playing the way I would perform these actions in a more realistic way, the way I did during my time in the service.

2 things i loved, tac laser, that gives you the avility to half aim but faster than regular ads, that felt great, speacially for weapons that just had TOO MUCH visual recoil, so sad tac stance seems like an uncomplete version of that, so that'd be 1, and 2, the camo grind, having the freedome to say, "hey, i really don't want to do melees and launchers this year" was amazing, granted, yeah, i only got orion on like season 2 or 3, but still, having the choice to do it right from the start or do it my way down the line was definitely a step up in that regard for me. (note, that the last part of the grind, like unlocking the camo for each individual weapon, like platinum, polyatomic, and orion, was lengthy AF, but still, it had to feel grindy at some point, since weapons had less levels this year, and we shared so much stuff between them, it was only right that the mastery was the actual grind of it, not that i liked it, but i can understand where it came from).

One of the things that was pulling me out of MWIII was how bad the sounds were. It sounded so goofy, the LMG's sounds, the hit indicator, the headshot indicator. MW2 has been one of my favorite CoDs. I put in quite a bit of playtime, and I enjoyed pretty much every minute of it. Weapon balance was spot on after all the guns that needed buffs got the buffs. I never felt like anything was really overpowered, and only a few guns were ever underpowered (M16, I'm looking at you.) Map design is amazing. Plenty of jump/parkour spots to flank or surprise people. Gunsmith and all the weapons are phenomenal. I DO miss how many grenade launcher types we had in MW2019, like flash, smoke, concussion, incendiary, etc. And the guns themselves? The way they actually kick, flash, smoke, etc is just great. I wish they were going with the same visual recoil in MW3. I prefer my guns to kick, especially when you move up in caliber. And the dot misalignment threw me off in the MW2 beta, but I grew to love it, as I love little touches of realism like that, and staged reloads. I have accepted reload cancelling, but never really liked it, as its a bit jarring in the way that its just not how guns work. If you remove a mag, it needs to be put back in. If you start a reload, and need to stop, you either put the mag back in, or you finish your reload. All in all, MW2 captures for me what CoD always has and will be: An arcade shooter with realistic touches on guns and equipment, but with the feel of moving around the battlefield like some legendary operator, who at the end of the day, uses all the tools at his disposal to win. MW2 makes me happy.

5:35 I wish we could toggle it in the beginning of the match depending on the mode, especially if I'm qued in a mosh pit playlist 6:10 Drill charges are still inconsistent and we still get a danger indicator when it's the teammates drill charge which is annoying.

Personally I like that they kept the weapons in the game mostly modern. No WW2 bolt actions or 1911s that were underpowered. There's so many awesome weapons in 2023 now and even if they didn't see much development past initial testing like the Cronen Squall's real life counterpart, I'm happy a modern warfare game has modern guns.

The attachments and models in general are very realistic and well handled. I was very disappointed with sledgehammers handling of the guns and attachments- light bolt on a pump shotgun? bolt AK, weird SVD/AR hybrid, the 9mm AR abomination, the ugly AN94… That being said, I miss the WW2 weapons in MW2019. Insurgent style weapons have a place, I need the MG34 and K98 back

@@tonedeaftachankagaming457the SVD/AR hybrid you're on about is the SVCh, a modular semi auto dmr designed by Kalashnikov concern for russian SF. I don't think it's been adopted by any military but it's definitely a real gun in production. There's definitely also bolt action AKs in the wild somewhere but it's a really odd choice to add

@@lunchpin403 Hadn’t heard of the SVCh yet, thanks for the info. The bigger problem with the bolt action AK is that it’s a sniper rifle, not a marksman. It’s an odd choice either way but very weird putting it in class with precision rifle cartridges… IW put some thought into making the classes make sense. Assault rifles are in intermediate cartridges, battle rifles in full-power rifle with select fire, precision/Anti material calibers for snipers. Attachments usually make sense too, with the M1014 getting bolts instead of the pump, the semi auto mods as “high grain,” etc. Sledgehammer decided to invent guns- and ugly ones- while apparently doing 0 research on how they should work. Not to mention the optics. I’m just hoping the guns I can stand to use wont be garbage

I liked that pistols were viable. I also enjoyed the dolphin dive and slide were both usable. Drill charge was a fantastic addition to gameplay. It could be annoying but it was fun and useful.

One thing I liked was weapon balance. Meta guns weren't too powerful, pistols were incredibly viable, and all snipers were quite good.

The camo grind was great, it was my first mastery camo unlock (did it back in Jan), with the exception of long shots of course. Would love to see these changed to obj kills or something like that.

MW2 was great fun to play all year. I loved the various challenges and Camo grinds. Cheating players is my biggest frustration. So many hackers just ruin the game immersion completely.

Handguns were a highlight in this game. It's indeed a good reflection from BO2 back in 2012. Both game utilize handguns in a way that they are extremely viable in close-quater situations and even outclass primaries.

This game had amazing graphics for a COD. Guns sounded great also.

For real. As someone who games on a big OLED, if MWIII ends up looking like the beta did, it'll be a massive downgrade imo. It'll still look between "okay" and "good" for what it is, but I could definitely see a difference between the visual qualities of MWII and the MWIII beta.
@myytti16 Жыл бұрын
@@BCBtheBeastlyBeast yup. Unfortunately this game sucked in so many other ways so I will take MW3 probably anyway. The only two real issues in new MW3 were spawns and actual visibility. Maps were a bit boring also because I have played them in Xbox 360 days.

I think this echoes a lot of my general thoughts that aside from the glaring issues in boots on the ground gameplay - a lot of the stuff that fell outside that scope was actually really impressive. I liked the drill charges, the maps were enjoyable, and the one thing that REALLY stood out to me when I went back to cold war recently (by far my most played COD to date), was that MW2 really nailed the sound design and animations to make the guns feel heavy and impactful. Im really glad they kept that intact for mw3 while still fixing some of the more aggressive parts of it that affected gameplay Honestly thats one of the reasons im actually really happy they're keeping 3 so close to it. Because 2 did a LOT of really good stuff, even if it wasnt enough to tip the scales imo

The camo progression was the best thing added to this game. its the only cod I've ever went for the mastery camo on.

I agree with pretty much everything except for the Drill Charge - aka the wallhacking aimbot grenade, which I absolutely despise. Part 2 is going to be spicy

The best multiplayer maps were added into the late game cycle which shows that IW does still know how to utilize proper 3-lane maps. The base game in november 2022 had like 3 good multiplayer maps. Ranked play was indeed goog but with sbmm, regular multiplayer is ranked play on it's own lol

I really enjoyed Invasion. It provided a haven from the sweat fest multiplayer and I enjoyed just getting home from work and after my evening chores just putting on some music or watching a video while killing bots and still able to work on weapon progression. I loved the camo system, loved all the events, and I loved DMZ. I also really liked the new gunsmith system, I like that I have to try everything to really unlock everything

MW2 honestly is an 8/10 CoD, I personally prefer IW's design philosophy, I can play the game how I want and still do well. More slow and defensive play styles are absolutely nuked in MW3. (No I am not bad at the game I hit crim in ranked) The weapon balance is very good, there are a ton of fun and interesting weapons and attachments to use. All of which is pretty viable due to a pretty perfect ttk imo. I think the map design is probably the weakest part of the game though, about half of all the dlc maps just are not it.

I loved the Ground War mod, most of my played hours come from that mode alone. That was my favourite thing about the game.

Dmz was the sole reason i purchased this game. I have twice as much time on it than multiplayer/warzone combined. All the games between 2019 and now I skipped…..but Dmz brought me back. So sad they won’t be supporting it long term, but it is what it is. The mode had so many memorable moments, good and bad, that regular multiplayer just could not achieve.
