Being somebody that grew up playing video games since 1981 when I was 3 and we got an Atari and the passion began, I really enjoy the PS1 era because it was very similar to when PC gaming gained ground and developers basically said "let's just see what we can do"... Night Raid was made by Takumi which also made the Giga Wings serie and Mars Matrix. The company Toaplan was the king of shooters in the arcade back in the 80s and early 90s but they split into 4 differents companies back in 1994. the ps1 and n64 have more hidden gems than one can count.

P4NTH4R the N64 only had less than 300 games published for it... PS1 had 1300.

I really loved Bugs and Taz as a child and even today I think it still holds up really well. I totally agree is a hidden gem! Nice catch MJ
The PS1 had few good games but playing CD music back then was amazing !!

You probably wont see this buuuuut, Ive been watching your channel since the early days and always look forward to your videos. Many of the games you speak about (especially on the PS1) I have either played or owned in my younger days. Ive decided to use this knowledge and passion to make my own hidden gem series too as there are LOTS of games buried down in my memory that need to come to the surface. Metal Jesus YOU ROCK!

Metal Jesus actually mentioned Apocalypse with Bruce Willis! :o Glad it’s getting some love! I still have Future Cop on my ps3. That’s one nostalgic video!

It’s getting to the point where you’re just gonna mention the entire library as a hidden gem 😂
@gabrieljewett40424 жыл бұрын
Well to be fair the PS1 had a ton of games so MetalJesus could make tons of videos about lesser known games from the library. You wouldn't be able to do that with the N64 or Dreamcast

7,000 PS1 games were released. I've talked about 40 of them over the years...so... probably not 😂

I've missed these Hidden Gem videos. The old ones are classic videos of the channel and make for VERY great collector's guides. Hope he does some more soon.

Heyy I've horded these crap games that I bought dead cheap, now I need you guys to create demand for it so the prices can increase and I can swim in profits!

PS1 had so many games, I think you could make at least 5 more Hidden Gem videos, and I'll never be tired of them. Always discovering something new through these videos.

A cool thing about Kodelka, every in-engine cutscene is fully mocapped, and completely to scale with the environment. If they're sitting around a table, the actors will really be sitting around a table.

Actually, Koudelka *IS* a prequel to Shadow Hearts 1 & 2, even with re-appearing characters & locations (such as Koudelka, Roger Bacon, & the Nemeton Monastery in Wales). I love the mix of survival horror & RPG in the 1st Shadow Hearts & Koudelka. I love Shadow Hearts more, but I also love Koudelka (except the breaking weapons, which killed it for me).

Future Cop LAPD, where LA is a completely lawless wasteland; life imitating art? That's an accurate description of LA and Oregon also for that matter.

Bit of info regarding Future Cop:LAPD, it started development as Future Strike (There is a "teaser" for it in Nuclear Strike). They changed direction a tad and out popped Future Cop. The suits wanted to cancel it outright because "No one was interested" in the franchise any more. It is a great single player game that has a fun multiplayer mode as well.

7:19 - You mention Bugz and Taz: Time Busters but no mention of the awesome shared screen co-op that game had? Like almost nothing else on the platform.

That makes perfect sense! I'll have to try that some time.
