Thank you for a very enjoyable video... You and your dad are great! I've owned two Volvos from the early to mid 70's. This was in the 80's. The first was a '72 sedan. I don't recall the model #? It was gold with a camel and black leather interior. It had the speedometer that was a rotating horizontal bar that would turn red from left to right as speed increased. The last was a 1976 242 DL wagon. Navy blue with a two-tone blue interior trimmed in black. A fuel injected four cylindar with 4 speed manual. It had a switch in the top of the shifter for over drive or, 5th gear. Both were ahead of their time and great machines. The ride was solid and smooth and every little detail of those cars were quality. Just a feeling of being in a premium machine built with the precision of a Swiss watch...nothing to compare. Does Volvo have any plans for bringing back a V6? I'm sure the new four is great but, just can't get past a four, no matter how advanced, in a larger premium luxury car. Just don't like the sound of them and the high revs. I guess that's what sells these days?

I've loved Volvo since I was a kid (40 now) only just got to buying one a few years ago and it lived up to my expectations. 1998 V70 2.5T. it was always that 5cyl sound that got my attention.

Just out of curiosity. Is it a violation against the law not to stop at a stop sign in the U.S.A? Thanks. PS. In Sweden you lose your* driving license at once if the police sees you not stopping at a stop sign. You might get your license back after 2 months, depending on the circumstances.

Your dad is the quintessential Volvo stereotype, lol. Loved the video. One question, is the air suspension supposed to be that loud? It sounded pretty loud in that video after you closed the trunk. My S-Class is completely silent when in raises/lowers itself.

Taylor Spedden Yet another nominee in the KZbin humble bragger of the year category. A Mercedes S-Class reference in a Volvo review video.
@taylorspedden67117 жыл бұрын
J High Serious question though. I was actually considering an S90 with all the options (Including air suspension) as my next car. If it's only aesthetically refined, and not very well rounded in every aspect then I don't want one. I don't want an air compressor that sounds like that every time the car adjusts its height.

Love Volvo Safety but my experience with my 2004 Volvo XC90 defective transmission and Volvo's abandoning its customers have left a bad taste in my mouth about buying a Volvo. For years, Volvo hid the issue and got sued. I worry that Volvo, a premium brand, doesn't act like a premium brand. The Dealers are not supported by Headquarters and Geely's purchase of Volvo hasn't helped. The transmission in 2004 Volvo XC90's fails every 50 thousand miles. No thought of doing right by its customers. The reliability of Volvo is in question. The idea of putting a 4 cylinder in such a heavy vehicle is in my opinion a recipe for failure. Just like the engine in the 2003 and 2004 XC90 it was too small and poorly matched up with the transmission leading to its failure.

@sufianosman6927 жыл бұрын
Jakub Sip turbo and supercharge are more than enough to give you high power, no need for six or eight cylinders at all. This engine can give you more than 400hp, you will not find this in six or eight cylinders engines
@TheWildNest7 жыл бұрын
size of engine is not all. japanes can pull hundrates of hourses out of their right 4 engines. Volvo engines was very popular among tuners because of the good engine the could handle high power.

But But its a Volvo made in Europe by Europeans and Shxt ..... :D
@bag7277 жыл бұрын
Because it's a swedish car with super low emissions (for its size anyway), and its fuel economy is good because it has 4 cylinders. In Sweden the price/gallon is roughly $7, which might make you realize why we dont want too big engines.. Also the bigger the engine, the higher the taxes.. The XC90 will cost about $250 while a Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi will cost $500.. (I picked that Dodge because it has almost same HP and weight for a quick comparison..)
