it's almost weird how everytime you speak my mind. I'm 16 now and the only question I hear every day is: what do you want to be later? what are you gonna do? and most of the time I try to change the subject cause I really don't know and the future scares me. You're such a big inspiration for me. thank you

Darling you're going places in life, trust me. and I wanna be there all the way. to tell u I'm proud of you over and over again. I might not know u in person, true. you have no flying idea about who I am, also true. but I love you. I love your mind, and I love how every single word u say hits deep. Just where I want it to hit. Again, I love you.

Taz I'm glad to hear things turned out better for you. I hope they stay that way forever and you remain happy. I'm 50, in a couple of days I'll be 51, and I don't have a "what's next". I'm divorced. Went through bankruptcy. Lost my house to foreclosure and had my car repossessed. Eventually I got evicted from a different house and was almost homeless if it wasn't for my sister finding me this apartment. I haven't worked for a few years now because I get anxiety/panic attacks and miss a lot of work. I filed for disability, due to my anxiety and depression and because I have a bad lower back where I can't lift much, and after 3 years of it being in court I just received a letter stating that my appeal has been denied. A few years back I cashed in my 401K to live on so now I have no retirement money to look forward to. So when I saw the title of this video you made it made me ask myself the question and I'm having a hard time seeing any "next". But that's mine and not yours to worry about. I am truly happy to see things working out for you and wish you continued success. Thank you !

This spoken word poem was very needed for me and really struck a chord, so thank you :) I have been watching you for a while but have only just made a KZbin account today. I started at uni in September studying a History degree but left last week because I realised that it just wasn't for me. I have spent the past year since I first applied to uni feeling very lost, knowing that I wasn't making the choices that were right for me but without really knowing any alternative path to take. I've come home to find myself being seen differently by a lot of people who know me because of my decision but this video has made me realise that at the end of the day all that truly matters is that I'm happy. I hope to go back to uni next year to study English Language instead as I think that that's where my real passion lies. I thought it would be a fun project for me to create a KZbin account to upload content to and to invest my time into whilst I'm trying to figure out the whole uni thing as it's something I've been wanting to try for a while but have never had the confidence/right mentality to do. I've only recently become aware of the existence of spoken word poetry and have KZbinrs such as yourself to thank for my discovery of it. It's something that I've been starting to try myself and within the next couple of weeks/months hope to have gotten myself to a stage where I feel like I can share my own poetry on KZbin. Thank you for posting such a lovely video and I wish you luck with everything in the future

Omg i'm speechless :O this is exactly how i'm feeling right now. I wish I could meet with you and speak to you all day because I feel you would understand everything that I am feeling right now. I just finished uni (after 4 yrs) and I ve been studying Marketing. Now that I graduated I feel lost. I ve been sending CVs but everyone rejected me and I don't know what's gonna happen. I wake up every morning without any scope and I have to say I am starting to feel really depressed. I dont want to bore you with my boring life but I would like to thank you for sharing your story because it honestly made me feel better knowing that I am not alone and I am not different from the rest.

Taz, your spoken word poems have helped me a lot in the past year. I have been working extremely hard in high school, but have no clue what I truly want to do. It has had a negative impact on my passion for learning. Until recently, I have been destroying myself psychologically in order to fulfill expectations of what I'm supposed to be doing---aka what everyone else is doing---and it's been driving me insane. I am finally taking charge of my life. I have decided to take a gap year before applying to university so I can figure out who I am and what I am passionate about. Your videos have helped me feel confident in making this decision and that means everything to me. Thank you Taz. By the way, if anyone has any ideas about what I should do during my gap year, let me know!! :))))

Honestly this is what I think everyday Because I'm only 14, but I stress about what I want and I want to be free and do things and live my life but I wonder HOW DO I DO THAT? I would live to write poetry, write books, write stories, but how do I do that? I'm already writing my things, I'm working on books but I fear I can never finish One and although I have my dream it'll never come true and my life will just repeat always. How unfair is that actually? Where from do I get the money? My books will never achieve any success, I can say that for sure, because they're bad. How do I live?

Damn I want to cry. I have been saying this for 2 years. I don't effing Know what I want to do, but since I got good grades in high school, I got into medical school. I don't hate it ALL the time, but I mostly do, especially when the thought keeps getting to me that I didn't even choose this or want it" I am stuck, and medical school is no joke it's such a long and tiring path that needs motivation and passion, I have none. How.. how did you get to know what you love? You just got your degree and spoke to a camera!! I loved you poetry once you said "I had no idea" because SAME.
@MsIngster4 жыл бұрын
Just a stranger here chiming in: I'm sort of on the other side of your spectrum, yet the same. I've started out in a different career, but decided to chase my dream and to get into med school. But it's been so hard to sustain that I feel equally lost as you. Medicine is hard, for anyone period. You really need to have the heart for it, to be in healthcare because it is a life and not just a job. Somewhere, somehow you did choose this, you just need to figure out why. What is it that does bring you satisfaction? It is the most important advice I can give you, to find that out. In anything you do in life. Because without it, you can't be a good doctor. One of the hardest choices would be to walk away from it, because of the expectations, opportunities and whatnot. But if it doesn't bring you the satisfaction it needs, those things are all worthless. So it would render the money or stature. But even if you don't know what's it all for, just know that everyone in medicine has had that thought at some point. I have one rule of thumb for anything in life and that is: If it doesn't scare and excite you at the same time, it's probably not worth doing. So try to get past of any self doubt, and go out there and enjoy. Whether that's in medicine or not. But if at some part in my story, you got a little angry at the thought of 'who the hell does this person thinks she is talking about quiting or having enough heart', then you'll know you're on the right track ;) Take care.

I am also considering the Bachelors of Law but I am in Australia. There are two universities that I am considering. One is the top university in the state but the other is the one I fell in love with on day one. Though lesser known and of a "lesser name" this uni offers Law and Film, two areas that I am so passionate about. Everyone else looking on are compelling me to go to the "better" one. After this video, I think I've made my decision.
