Big thanks to the Hoofprints Equestrian Program for letting me film on their property and use their horses!
Check out Jordyn's channel here: / @thatgirljordyn2041

I can't quite believe I have to write this comment but here's something you need to read before commenting!! - This video is a harmless joke! We were just poking a bit of fun at some things we've heard in the past! - You don't have to tell me you are a non-rider and you don't say these things! :) - All of this is, albeit very poor, acting! We are both riders and know what we're doing! - This video was made 4 years ago :D Thank you so much for watching!

@109367
@109367 7 жыл бұрын
If they think you're saying gorilla you're probably pronouncing grullo wrong, it's a Spanish word, the double L is pronounced like a Y. Also Spanish adjectives are gendered so your mare would be grulla, not grullo, that's the masculine form :)

I do this riding program and it's quite a regular thing for me. So I show up and we were waiting for the rest of the program to show up and this little girl shows up in a BICYCLE HELMET. O-o So when the horses were being designated to riders, she heard my horses name (Indy) and was like, "I WANNA RIDE INDYYYYY!" At the time, she was just coming back into work and my instructor was like, "Um, sorry but she's for the more experienced riders-" The kid interrupted and said, "But I like them wild!!!" Thankfully she was put on a different pony. (As we get on) Kid: How do I make it go? *waves reins around) GIDDYUP HORSEY! Me: *starts warming up* Kid: *sees crop in my hand* Hey, give me that stick, my horsey won't move. Helper: Nope. * puts halter on pony and a lead rope. * Me: o-o

Once I was leading a kid and his mom said he had never rode before...I wasn’t happy about this because I wasn’t even working! Then he said he has rode before. Then he flicked the reins and said “giddy up!” And I was like “ don’t do that! It hurts the pony’s mouth!” (It’s a really old horse) then he continues to flick the reins and shout. Me and my friend just looked at each other. This lasted an hour.

Oh god, I remember a time when a little kid came to my family's farm since her parents were friends with my parents and her parents were visiting. She wanted to ride so badly so I was told to go show her the horses and let her pick out one to ride. So I took her and she looked at all the horses, which was about 16 of them with a few boarding horses too. I ride a large, to me, *beautiful* silver dapple Clydesdale named Mist who is a stallion. He is a complete jerk to work with sometimes but I still love the bastard. Anyways, this little girl *really* wanted to ride Mist and I kept having to tell her," No, he's way too big for you and he is a bit dangerous to ride. Plus, he's my horse." This girl threw a complete tantrum before I convinced her to choose someone else by telling her what he would do. So we kept going through and she then wanted to ride my mom's Egyptian Arabian named Aton. He was for a *much* more experienced rider, which my mom was, and there was a reason his name was Weinecus Maximus. Maximum fucking weine. That horse believes in the god damn Zombie-Butterfly-Apocalypse and plays with tassels all day, ok? She threw a temper tantrum over not getting to ride him either and then said she only wanted to ride Mist or Aton and I said," No. You can choose one of the other horses that isn't a boarding horse or you can go back to your mother and not ride at all." She told me that I was mean and that her mother would make me let her ride Aton or Mist. I went to her mother and explained the situation that we had and I didn't see that kid for the rest of the day. Brat.

I volunteer to help an Equestrian Center in my country.It's like 23 mins from my home.So,I was grooming this beautiful white Morgan,Bella, and a little girl walked up and said " I wanna ride this horsey. " " Uhm..No..Bella belongs to the owner,and she's for professional trainers. " That kid threw a tantrum over not riding Bella((who is a jumping horse.))so I led her to the stable's newest pony,Maven.She stayed 12 minutes figuring out how to make Maven walk.I ended up leading Maven around for a hour.This is why I hate kids,And Bella ended up walking around the stalls. (( I really love that horse. ))

YES. I know I’m a year late but at my school, people are like “I just went to a horse place and rode. I was so good I even trotted! I think I galloped too!” And even one time, someone went to the farm I work at and claimed they galloped. You are only allowed to gallop once you have been riding there for 5 years, at that farm.

I was drawing a picture of a western pleasure horse being ridden at a show (based on my horse show about a month ago), and she said "Why is she on dirt? Horses are supposed to be on grass." Then I replied with "Ok. First of all, it's called a riding arena, look it up. And 2nd of all, don't assume Dante's gender! He is a boy." Yikes. That whole conversation makes me cringe.

This happens to me, even if I'm new. Like one time my cousin from Florida (she's 9) came up to where I live, and I took her to the barn to ride (we had permission, of course!) and she was soooo picky about the color of the horse she wanted. So, we have two actual small stables, and I made her greet all the horses and once we reached the paint horse (I forgot his name but he's gorgeous) she squealed and jumped and said "I want this one! It's so pretty!" and I said "Uh.. You can't ride that horse; it doesn't do English." and she looked at me confused, and stated "Well, can I just do the Western saddle thing?" and I said "Uh, sorry, but no. I don't know or ride Western, so you can have Star if you like. He's very handsome and kind, nice for first time riders." And she literally slumped and was like "UGH OK" and I was just like "chill jc" and she did almost everything wrong. :P

You need to ride before you get a horse!!! or at least take some lessons to know how to care for one first.
@insertnamehere1483
@insertnamehere1483 5 жыл бұрын
You should learn to ride before you get a horse. Seriously, it's a lot harder than it looks. You should focus on affording lessons and I like to think that the time you should even consider getting a horse is once you're at least able to canter over a three foot jump relatively easily and you can handle a buck, rear, bolt, and refusal. The reason for this is because you don't want your horse to spook or act up and you to fall off and get hurt and stop riding while you own a horse. And when you are ready to own a horse try looking for a horse you know you can handle. Don't get a purebred Arabian stallion if you can't handle a spirited horse that will probably be too wild for you to handle. But believe me, it will be worth it in the end.

She was by far the worst rider there but we weren't allowed to help her because she was the birthday girl and couldn't look bad in front of her friends. We ended up playing a simple game where you had to weave through some cones at a trot as quick as you could. She went full jockey stance and used the whip on the horses rump without squeezing it kicking first. She also screamed continuously because she lost that race and demanded to have another pony. I hated that whole experience.

Omg, I have this bully at my school and she only bullies me because she is jealous. I was talking to a teacher about how I got to canter for the first time (I am still a beginner) and she started to say how she used to ride all the time and she has canter before. I asked her if she has ever heard of a rocking chair canter and what horse she did it on. (I rode a big old Tennessee walker which there they only breed that can do it). She said she did it on the old quarter horse she had and she would have probably next had said he was like 15.5 hands tall XD XD. I have no respect for her. I explained what little knowledge she had to the teacher and the teacher found it very interesting how she claimed to know how to ride but had little knowledge about horses.

The teachers at my school are clueless. They ask me, "So where do you ride if it's snowing?" And I reply, "In an arena." "Wow, you can do that?!" "...Yes..?" "Does the horse get scared?!" "No, they're fine even though I believe that my horse does better outside."

One day I was out on a Hack with 2 of my friends and as we came back to the barn my trainer told me that there were 3 little kids that wanted to ride, and that I needed to let them pick which horses to ride. One of them INSISTED she wanted to ride my horse after I continously said no, because she is trained, but she is an absolute airhead. If she doesn't want to do something, she rears or bucks, she is also barn sour and buddy sour. The other two kids picked out their horses nicely but this one kid kept insisting, after telling he rno multiple times, she still insisted so she went and told her mom, her mom then complained to me and threatened me, she then told my coach. My coach said find and drew up a random (not legal) contract stating that if any of the kids get hurt, it isnt our fault and she can't sue us. Then, we put her on my horse. Low and behold, she flew because she was determined to prove she was better than all the rest of us cause she watch Hidalgo, war horse, and flicka. So she went to jump a jump after being told NOT to, and my horse bucked her off. Mom tried to sue, we reminded her of the document. Her other kids come out and ride all the time now but that one kid isn't allowed on our land. The other kids love it and ride my horse all the time now because they LISTEN. Found out a couple weeks ago that girl got smart with a trainer and tried to jump another horse and had a rotational fall. The horse is fine but the girl has a broken arm and broken collar bone. Revenge sucks.

Introvert Ik this is really late but riding a horse if your beginning is pretty scary.. At least for me because i rode in a feild with mole hills so the horse tripped until we finally got onto a small trail. But if you ever try it every mistake will be worth it ( that's my opinion )
