I really like those ladies that talked about getting the men in their lives to connect with each other more and generally be emotionally available. That was such a positive and selfless message.
@Askaa88 Жыл бұрын
Women say that men has to be emotionally available but when men decides to open up, it's often seen as too clingy and needy and the woman decides to leave the man which leads to men closing their feelings even more. Advice for women: Sort out what you really want in a relationship and don't just name a bunch of stuff without real thought behind it. Advice for men: Try and talk about your feelings in a more open way with friends and family so it's not a barrier/hurdle when you are in a relationship.

i agree with your take. I am still amazed at my wife's conversation style with her friends. They don't seem to exchange any actual information. i could never participate in their conversations. This creates a problem when several couples socialize. If no split between men and women occurs, the conversation becomes dominated by the women, who talk about their stuff, in their style, and the guys say very little, because it's not their kind of chat. Sometimes it's the guys' conversation that takes off and the women soon leave to have their own conversation. I don't think there is any point in fighting this. Mostly, conversation makes most sense within same sex groups, not mixed sex groups.

It's interesting how biology is synced in us despite our cultural differences/social engineering which also plays a role. I live in Germany and am born and raised in Greece yet I have heard the same statements from girls from every country concerning ( height, money, confidence etc...). Bottom line is women want men who can basically outsmart them, outearn them and low key overpower them physically if necessary ( fitness plays that role here and genes of course that is why height is important ) to feel safe and have respect for the guy. If not then sooner or later it is not going to work out. So when ladies are talking 50 50 they lowkey want dominance from the other side and basically have reasons to struggle to get there in my honest opinion and although our 'progressed' society implies the 50 50 rule women still seek out the other 70 30 guy.

Dutch is a far cousin of Norwegian. Even some words seem the same when pronounced, but still, Norwegian is very different. I had a friend in Norway when I was a child, and remember the word straks, which in Norwegian means something like 'strak aansluitend' or inmediate'. In Dutch means soon but not immediate. But if one would look technically at the Dutch language, strak aansluitend (immediate) would be a more logical meaning for the word just from a literal language point. Also, we have some Russian, slavic, Scandinavian words, french and German words in our language if one would look carefully. Advocat (advocaat) in Dutch and Russian is exactly the same meaning, meaning a lawyer, and I can continue for some time.

I have lived in Norway for 27 years. I have had 3 different Norwegian girls for 25 years. I think Norwegian girls are the kindest and most beautiful girls in the world. They understand love and understand if you just want a girlfriend. I wanted to live a stable life and tried to show my girl that I loved her. But I was young and made several mistakes as well. The only thing that was difficult to understand was that they think and think very much especially when it comes to sex. But I learned that too and did my best to get my girl and be satisfied and happy. Norwegian people are extremely kind and good-hearted people. I still love them and wish I could rewind time and work less and be with my girl more.

Communication is key and everything but can only do so much if the other side doesn't respect limits and is constantly trying to push the partner to be something he or she is not. In these cases very often one side comes to that mentioned outcry: "I don't want to be with you anymore." or is ghosting or worse. It took me a few relationships, with women from different cultures and backgrounds, an abusive marriage, an ugly divorce and traumatic fight for child care to learn when and how to say no and to stand by it.Similar story with most of my family, friends and colleagues in recent years. It's like a plague once you dive into the dirty details. There's too much dishonesty on both sides because that mentioned "subconsciousness" tells us something very different than social expectations, norms, beliefs, stereotypes, tropes have burned into our minds. Up to the point that I can't be bothered with "active" dating anymore. I just want to be allowed to be me, feel free and have a laugh. Call it post midlife crisis in the 30s xD

Interesting comment because I noticed this in a program with two identical twin who got adopted; one in Norway and one in the US. Both girls were quite similar. Not surprising given that they were identical, but I do remember the girl adopted to Norway was a lot more introspective than the American girl. But I think the American girl was more outgoing. You could see a bit why though when you followed their upbringing. American girl got driven to a lot of organized activities. A lot of action with other people all the time. The Norwegian girl roamed around a lot more on her own. She would go into an abandoned house and explore it, or just bike around the hillside or whatever. She did much less organized activity and spent more time by herself reflecting on things. I do remember that from growing up myself in Norway and my experience in the US. It is much more action and activity focused in the US. In Norway I think being bored is almost seen as something positive. You like kids to figure out what they want to do themselves. Take their own initiative. And I noticed we probably have more autonomy as children in Norway. We can go a lot more around on our own without supervision.

My first wife was Norwegian, I'm an American of Latin heritage. We were fun together until it wasn't. Traveling and partying was fun, but we had different expectations of our marriage. Norwegian are different in positive ways. I read perceptions and comments from Americans. TBH dating Norwegian, Scandinavian and northern European women is dramatically different than American women, generally speaking of course. There's definitely better communication if you, the American man, are a articulate & not weak or needy. Norway is quite egalitarian in this sense. A strong woman is something I find attractive. Don't be intimated. That's on you, not her. Know that's she's attractive & loves being desired. I was a hustler in my 20s as we traveled. I worked as a bouncer, night club doorman, club promotions, waiter, open market jewelry vender, English teacher, in Spain. And when we lived in Norway I made fiberglass speedboats by day and taught business English at the Folketsuniversitet in Oslo. So, being fun, confident, outgoing, ambitious and "fun" is something that Scandinavian women find attractive, but that's most women. Point is, there's no hack to relationships. Be the most evolved verse of yourself that you can be. My my wife, current & final ;) haha, is definitely an Alpha American woman. Definitely more attractive & earned more than me, about double my salary. She intimates most men, not me. We're both independently wealthy. She doesn't need me in her life and I'm not looking to rescue her. We chose each other and we love and respect one another. I drive her crazy. I joke and say, "I know my wife loves me, but I'm quite certain she doesn't like me much" LOL! But she understands my need to go do martial arts everyday. I understand her need to have everything in order and immaculate. I'm the cuddler, chatty katty at the end of the day and she's the quiet stoic one that just wants peace and quiet. We're definitely yin to each other's yang. Regardless of nationality, culture, ethnicity, religion we need to stop seeking Mr or Ms Right. We need to go out and find someone just as F-ed up as you are who's willing to put up when your s#!+ & who's s#!+ you can accept if and when they never change. Best of luck finding love from a recovered globetrotting, perpetual Peter Pan bachelor.

@@NorwegianOpinion That’s how we’re wired, I suppose. Those men opening up to their girlfriends/wives about some things are viewed differently afterwards, and not in a good way. Showing vulnerability like that makes you lose manly points, especially in the eyes of your woman. These chicks don’t know what they want. Most of them say something and then when they have what they asked for, they don’t like it and don’t want it anymore. Why? Because they can easily get another. Tear up in front of your wife once but that’s it. She’s gonna want you to grow a pair and act like a man after that. Do that a habit and you’re done. Why do women go for bad boys in the first place? They are tough, hot, know what to say, are fun and a little, or very toxic. If there’s anything I learnt until this point in my life is that women in general love drama. If you’re always understanding and don’t show a tad bit of toxicity towards your woman, she starts to get bored and guess what follows after that. Anyway, the only way a man should be emotionally available to his woman is by listening to what she has to complain about and comfort her. The moment he becomes the vulnerable one it’s like taking her place. Don’t listen to the BS these chicks are advising. You’re gonna get cheated on and guess whose fault that’s gonna be.
