Apparently you should NOT walk in in character AT ALL, but start when you act. That way, they see your personality first, and know who they’re working with. And if your character is rude, for example, it will deter them from choosing you.

I heard from famous actors and casting directors that walking into the audition room in character is “awkward” and can be seen as unprofessional because yeah they want somebody as that cabana tee but they want to see how good that actor is at switching their role on and off or to see how the actor develops getting into character. Just wanted to clarify, otherwise this is really awesome advice :)

I had a headshot consultation with Joe Lorenzo and he told me not to wear glasses in my headshot but I wear them in every day life. Should I not wear glasses to my auditions that I use that headshot for?

I think the best advice for commercial additions is to be an animated version of yourself, not a character. Kinda like not showing up in costume but rather in something you character might wear in modern times.
