The umlauts are not in the alphabet, but the corresponding phonemes (spoken sound) do exist in very close approximation. The initial 'a' in apple 🍎 corresponds almost to the 'ä' in Bäker ( baker 🧑‍🍳) .. That's why the dude wrote "we don't malrk it orthographically"

Yea that's probably meant with "we don't mark it orographically". Maybe the opposite wording makes more sense for him: In German is no phoneme to the English "th".

Be aware that Germany, small compared to the US as it is, has strong regional differencies. For example. In bigger and modern cities like Berlin, Cologne, etc. most likely nobody will bad an eye if you jaywalk in most places - of course even there can be situations where it might get frowned upon. Also the "take off your shoes" thing is very rare too. It also matters a lot of on the circumstances. If you want to see a country where this is basically a rule look at Japan. Being late in Germany is not that much different than being late in most other western countries and really depends on your circumstances. Your friends most likely won't be bothered, but your boss might be. Sure in Germany we a have a trend to liking rules and being overly correct - that might play a bit into that. But if you have a vaild excuse no German would be extra frown on you for being late. The whole left/right thing is overblown too. Yes in traffic we have rules, and if you break those rules you can get fined or taken away your license pretty quickly, unlike in the US. But for walking? People usually walk however they want. Must be a very specific city at a specific season where people stick to "lanes".

Ey deine Videos sind so cool. Ich bin selber Deutscher (leider,weil die deutsche Politik usw. übel scheiße is aber das ist ein anderes Thema) und finde mega nice,dass du Interesse an Deutschland hast. Wenn die deutschen schon keinen Funken Patriotismus haben,dann musst du das wohl übernehmen xD. Ich finde deine Mikrofon Qualität und deinen Humor auch sehr gut.
