As a retired professional writer, there were two types of clients I despised the most. First, ones who would essential take my completed concepts and writing, and then just rearrange my thoughts and words, and hand it back to me like they either fixed it or came up with it on their own. Second, those who after receiving 4 or more fine drafts would say "Nope. I don't like this either. I can't tell you why or offer more input, but I'll know it when I see it." Probably the second frustrated me more.

I wish I had someone to write or even record with. All my musical friends are either far far away, into thrash metal or they're professional and way out of my league... lol.. So I do all my writing and recording alone. Maybe someday someone will come along I can collaborate with. Always great advice guys. Really appreciate your experience.

Been there! When I started I had to move to a music city (NYC) but today almost all our SongTown members co-write on zoom. Check out the community: www.songtown.com

Doing a co-writing session is a bucket list item, do they ever have… like…. Amateur day or anything where someone can be a part for a day to experience the writing room?

Most of our SongTown members co-write. It’s a lot of fun! Write on!

How can you make a living writing songs? How many songs needs to be recorded annualy?
@TerryStephensonmusic4 ай бұрын
oh, Lord...have a song nearly finished with a strong hook and good melody...and just needing some tweaking of lyrics ...and I play it for someone who had some success and they try to turn the whole song around ...gggrrrrr...one of the reasons I quit co-writing .or don't offer to
@SongTownUSA4 ай бұрын
Hey Terry, I only co-write on songs at their inception. Bringing a song to someone that's almost finished isn't really a co-write. I would keep those for yourself and just make them 100 percenters. Write on! :) ~CM
