They did mention that if you're not in best shape NOT to wear and I have to agree. 5 months ago I was 12kg overweight and my tummy was sticking out and my hanes type Ts didn't really look good so I wasn't wearing them. Now that I've lost weight and gaining muscle from going to the gym 4-5 times a week, I started wearing them again. Turning 55 this year btw.

This definitely isn’t “one size fits all”. Some guys over 40 have the righteous confidence to pull of leather jackets etc... To say, “you shouldn’t wear this, you shouldn’t do that”... without educating them on the self-image and confidence part, you might as well send every guy over 40 to an old people’s home. P.s. Hi guys....i'm 58 ...and i think, the problem for some is, that "older people" often loosen a while the contact to the changes of timespirit or loosen selfesteem as a woman or man. It dont have to be trendy, thats for the young folks, but definitly not boring..... You should wear new things at home, until you become familiar with them.....

I think body shape matters more than age. If you're not in shape or too thin, then you have far more limited styles you can look good in.

At 5’3 I understand exactly where you are coming from I workout excessively and I have a very athletic build . Wear you darkest color as your pants, try to stay in a monochrome color palette and have you lighter colors on your upper torso to draw attention upwards . Strips can’t hurt in the end it’s about looking presentable and being confident.

There are multiple styles of leather jackets -- leather blazers, bomber jackets, leather car coats, leather trench coats, racer jackets (a more modern version of the biker jacket). You clearly are don't understand there are many kinds of leather jackets, and the only type of leather jacket I would say is off-limits is a moto jacket if you do not have the build for it. Like all clothing, wearing a leather jacket depends on your build, the fit of the clothing and the quality of the leather. I consider myself a fashion-forward clotheshorse, and the majority of people I know could not afford a quality leather jacket until their 30s. In fact, I never heard of this "you can't wear leather jackets past 30" nonsense. It sounds like you're giving some generalized, unfounded information.

My wife loves me in a cafe racer style jacket (monochrome leather, no stripes on the arms) but I look like a skinhead in a bomber jacket and I really look like I’m trying too hard with a biker jacket. I think you should add a caveat to your rules about leather jackets, have you watched old Steve McQueen films? Some men are blessed with the look and personality to be excluded from these rules regardless of age, they’re not trying, they just are. That being said if you don’t have that “it” factor the rule can apply, and the luxe fabrics for distinguished wardrobe is always a fun aspect of growing up.

I would have to say the most important tip is get your sizing right. Whilst I'm not a big guy, I have always reached for "L" as the "M"'s always feel tight in the store and uncomfortable and really who is mucking around trying stuff on for too long anyway?? In photos my clothes always look ill fitting. Just recently I found a jacket that I loved the look of but it was an "M" and having listened to everyone regarding Fashions for over 40's, thought "Maybe I am just a Medium". I bought the jacket and it looks and feels great, consequently a few more purchases of 'M"'s and I feel more confident and look way better in photos. Sizing matters.

This is a better video than your other over 40 video. But, I think you are still missing perspective. For one, henleys and leather jackets are now function than form. A Henley is a work piece, not a fashion piece. A good, well fitted leather jacket is indispensable. Especially in the winter. I’ve worn the same classic leather bomber and classic leather biker jacket for the last 30 winters and still get compliments on it. Bomber jackets may be the most forgiving. But, a good cafe racer or moto-jacket is great on a fit guy regardless of age. Especially if that is your lifestyle. And, today’s 40, 50, and 60 year olds did not necessarily give up their rides when they had kids.

Old guys - and I am one - neglect color, always opting for navy blue, dark grey, or beige. Sure, these colors may be safe as basics but ties, accessories, shirts, pocket squares, even shoe laces should be complimentary but bordering to "loud". Details are important.

What, no leather jackets??? I love leather jackets. I have a nice Real Shearling jacket for colder weather. I also have three soft lamb sport coats, one brown, one black and a slightly longer black. I also have a nice lamb suede in neutral colors that is just above the knee. As far as fitted shirts, I’m over 70 and have a belly issue, slim every where else. I feel very uncomfortable tucking in shirts no matter what the fit, unless I’m in a tux and then the jacket stays buttoned. I don’t wear oversized shirts but do not like it too tapered.

V-neck tees, as shown, are undershirts. Ripped jeans look bad on most(99.9%) men. Shiny clothes tend to look odd on men.

V neck undershirts have deeper V so it's still invisible when you wear a shirt unbuttoned at the top. Regular V neck t-shirt has shallower V.

I am 61 and rocking a salt a pepper beard I worn my studed leather Jacket . I am told I do not look my age, afrocentric american or people with melanin tend to persevere if they take care of themselves. I worn my fully studed leather jacket . I look great in it. Haters will hate and people will embrace you who do not have ego issues or vfc envy. I do enjoy positive ccx engery and enjoy my finery , or urban chic, it's self love and evaluating ones self. Logo t-shirts have a time and place. I wear shirts I have from volunteering at Tucson Festival of Books. I also wear band shirts from bands that I have a connection to. If I'm friends with members of a band, I will support my friends' bands and wear their band shirts.

Yes , its doable but you have to take care not to overdo it. A city slicker dressed up as a fake cowboy is very noticeable and doesn't get respect. Keep it basic. Avoid flashy embroidered shirts and feathers in the hat. Wear denim jeans such as wranglers and Wellington round toe boots. I like the Wellingtons shorter heel over cowboy boots as I'm tall. I prefer the round toe over the pointed. Cowboy boots are too western with tall heels so round toe Wellingtons are a good choice. Western/cowboy hat and Wellington boots give a country look without screaming cowboy. Boots are pretty mandatory with a cowboy hat. Shirts should be long sleeve darker solids or plaids. Cuffs rolled up in warm weather. Boots should be a plain brown or black with a matching brown or black belt. Stay away from large flashy belt buckles unless you ride broncs or bulls. I wear a straw cowboy hat as it seems to go with whatever I'm wearing but a plain regular cowboy hat is okay to. I also open carry a gun so I match my holster with my belt and boots. Over 40 crap 💩! People I am over 60 and at that point you can wear any damn thing you want matter of a fact when you pick up you mail either at the mailbox or the post office 🏤 you can wear just your underwear 🩲 by law you have a license to wear just your underwear 🩲 so tell everybody to piss off your over 60.

I don’t care what anyone thinks, but white sneakers have never and will never go on my feet. Every year i go to France, I spot lots of white Adidas Stan Smiths on the streets of Paris. I hate them! I have a pair of black ones. Why do I think of a rap star like Eimenem? Sp? White sneakers make me think of low class. No one will ever change my mind about that. I guess I’m in luck since I’m 51. 🤣
