This was so spot-on, so accurate to my own experiences and perspective.... thank you. It is tragic how thoroughly ancient instincts with no rational place in the modern world still permeate and control our culture, cultural values, and social interactions of all levels. I have spent my life trying to be capable of truly expressing myself in public/group settings (without resorting to alcohol)... to let people see what those closest to me see when we are alone together, but I cannot stop my brain from trying to understand everyone and everything that is happening before deciding what to say, and by then it is of course already over, any moment of spontaneity or "showing confidence" has long passed, and I'm just the guy who's boring and doesn't say anything... despite potentially (and likely) having more of substance to say about most topics than anyone else there. So many of those memories still haunt me, knowing, as an adult in my 40's, how many beautiful, fun, positive, self-affirming experiences I surely missed out on (or as you allude to, was deliberately excluded from) throughout my youth. Didn't help being an only child of a loveless marriage where there was a total absence of relationship modeling; sorry, getting off topic. Certainly subscribing and keeping an eye on your channel. I hope your messages like this one reach as many people as possible.
