The name "Emperor's Children" has a much darker origin. They were children taken as a punishment to their parents, those nobles who refused the Emperor. Literally the Emperor's Children because they had been claimed in retribution.

That would disrupt the setting as they need a traitor Fulgrim. Besides in a setting like 40k some actions have consequences can't just undo all the corruption or deaths of primarchs like a kids show

The want to be perfect for someone is a horrible existance, in my case trying to be the perfect son to someone whos mental health was always fluctuating and never seemed happy alot of the time about how well one did. It really mess's with ones drive to do anything in life and to be honest didnt help with depression so for those out there trying to be perfect for someone else dont, be the best you that makes you happy and find a purpose in life that makes you happy and if some can enjoy you for you and be at your side be glad. Life can be a fickle thing but aslong as you have somone there to stand by your side be it a sibling, parent, extended family, a loved one or a friend appreciate that theyre there and always strive to be the best you NOT the perfect you.

Hell yeah brother,you can only fill up others cup before for so long. At a certainty point you find yours has run completely dry. Unfortunately this subconscious need of external validation for one’s sense of self worth usually comes about from early childhood trauma. Usually from children having to be responsible for the emotional regulation of the care giver. Anyway 40K is my happy place 😊.

They have a nice parallel with Big E himself, who in pursuit of power almost became the Dark King, 5th chaos god but thanks to being saved by his peers he instead let go of his ego to beat Horus. The only diference between he and Fulgrim is that fulgrim had no one to save him

The fact that the Emperor, *THE EMPEROR* nearly succumbed to Slaanesh not only speaks to his desire for perfection and greatness but also how excessive he can be in his revenge, Monarchia is just one example and it shows how even he can be tempted and swayed. The Emperor is both far from Human and all too human and Chaos got their hooks in on his humanity at worst time. He is lucky he did have Ollanius Pius there to talk sense to him.

honestly, I think petty turbo is the only chaos primarch that kept his children from skinning babies. But thats more out of spite for chaos mixed with the viewpoint of "why skin it now, let the serf grow and there will be more skin to work with" then any moral high ground

It's unclear if Perterabo being fully chaos is actually true. The bit about him being a demon was 3rd party lore and its extremely outdated with no confirmation or art. His actual legion also has no demons or chaos taint. He could unironically come back as a renegade or even loyalist if he wanted.

I agree with Baldermort's video about Fulgrim and how his fall was a true tragedy to the Imperium as he was to be the leader of Imperial culture and bring about the beauty to the Emperor's grand vision. Fulgrim was the first HH novel I read, despite knowing nothing other than Fulgrim was the reason for Guiliman being in stasis on Ultramar and it really resonated with me on a deep level because I have and still do struggle with self worth, which culminated in a...let's say psychological collapse and I fell to addictions which destroyed my former life and the character of Fulgrim was the perfect (no pun intended) character for me to see it so I truly hope Fulgrim can be forgiven even if redemption arcs are over some these days, of all the Traitor Primarchs, I personally hope he gets it. And is it me or does anyone else feel Fulgrim is 40k's Griffith (the Beserk manga and the 1997 animation are exactly how Fulgrim looks and sounds in my head)

Now hear me out. Clonegrim would make perfect primarch substitute for Iron Hands. Imagine redemption arc for both Fulgrim, and Iron Hands, as they at first would directly want to kill him, to later recognize his loyalty, care and false of their ways. Too bad there's like two writers in BL who could actually write anything decent, and noone who would write that arc really good.

That's where you're wrong. They fell cause they became disillusioned with their own ideals. Instead of seeing perfection as something to work towards, they instead saw it as a state of being. As one video puts it, sort of. It's only something to improve upon, but never achieve. This was lost on them. This is what led to their downfall with Fulgrim grabbing the daemon bearing sword. Because he was arrogant and pompous that he was above caution and worry. Slowly corrupting him overtime. At the end of his corruption against his best friend, he had a single moment of regret realizing how far they'd fallen. Only being pushed and out of control by the daemon in the sword. Had he stayed humble and understanding as he once was. He would've been able to ignore the sword and returned from chaos. Or never fallen into betrayal in the first place.

Another people dont realize about perfection is that lets assume it was possible and one could be perfect in every way...what then? Where do you go after you reach perfection? Nowhere, you just stagnate and decay. Perfection isn't an ideal...its a dead end because you can always improve and get better in whatever you do.

You know, this makes even more interesting, originally, Fulgrim was gonna land in Chogoris instead of Jaghatai, this would have mean Fulgrim being raised by Chogoris culture that love freedom, and with some knowledge of chaos, that could have prevented the fall of the emperor childrens into seeking perfection instead of excellence how that would have changed Jaghatai and the white scars, is hard to say

Sorry, the EC didn't get a glow up. They have a few good models, namely Lucius. Slaanesh is the lord of excess, and the only excess I see is caution. The should have leaned into the body horror, eg Hellraiser.
