What more controllers need are special button layouts. If you think about it, the 3rd party Gamecube controller remakes are selling very well because Nintendo fans and Smash veterans love the specific button layout that gives them their true character-controlling skills. Other companies usually just change the positions of the 4 basic buttons and analog sticks, and the D-pad too sometimes. We need a new controller from some company, like a controller with 8 buttons, or 3 analog sticks, or something!

This is actually crazy, for the first time they're releasing a new console that supports last gen controllers (other than the Wii U, but that doesn't count so zip it, and also maybe some other consoles from the 16bit-era that I don't know of). It just goes to show that we're reaching a point where the way we control games have gotten so common place that they're really focusing on the console, and that's great, because now we know that Project Scarlet isn't going to have some gimmicky controller to try and drive sales.

There are a couple of things I'd change with the Elite V2.0 to make it close to perfect for my needs, assuming they've addressed the common points of failure with it: - 1. I prefer using rechargeable AA batteries to having a built-in rechargeable battery, cos when the batteries get low I can swap them out and stay wireless. I'd be fine with the controller having recharging circuitry built into it, but I'm not a big fan of built-in rechargeable batteries that can't easily be swapped out. 2. I'd like to be able to sync the controller to 2 different devices and switch between them with a proper hardware switch. I use my Elite controller on an Xbox One X and for certain games on my PC, but when you sync it to one device, it's no longer synced with the other and has to be resynced again, so if I sync it to my PC, I can't use it to turn my Xbox One X on because I have to first sync it back to the console. 3. I'd like them to build the buttons of the headset adapter into the controller itself, a bit like the Razer Wolverine Ultimate does, for example, cos there's no doubt that having those buttons at your fingertips is a lot better than having to adjust things using menus in the dashboard. I've owned a Scuf, a SharQ and the first gen Elite controller and the Elite has been the best overall, mainly because of the positioning of the paddles and because MS make it easy to customise things with the Xbox Accessories app. That's going to be even more true with the Elite V2.0 which will allow you to map system functions like "take a screenshot" or "record that" to a button or paddle, and there's also a shift function where holding down a button you designate as shift can change the functionality and/or sensitivity of the other controls.

hey kevin, is there any controllers (modern ones) that can remap any button to "anything" i.e. kb/m keys if in a pc-mode? there is a HUGE amount of pc players that do use controllers (ff14, rocket league, any m$ game that is cross platform, many other multiplayer titles that aren't fps). ideally, such controller would be a god send for me, as i just simply want a push to talk/mute button on my controller for discord. having a back paddle do that would be amazing.

For me my wireless Xbox 360 controllers still work just fine on my Linux PC with STEAM, same for the wired Power A XboxOne controller I have with with OG Xbox One S controllers with cheap USB adapters, USB Wired PS3 controllers, etc.. So yeah I'll pass on these lol!

I just have to say that you are incredible your videos are well done their well-thought-out and the explanations or detail into what the conversation is actually about is incredible thank you very much in pertaining to this thing I like what the Scuf is doing I love the elite the only problem I have with both is not having the batteries because getting the batteries to recharge or knowing when they're dying is way easier when you have physical batteries that you can just swap out or get rechargeable that charge like Energizer within 15 minutes not having this option actually sucks a lot of people think it's better but they made the Xbox One controller so much lighter and smaller and still manage to fit the batteries in I think the batteries are a lot better I wish they would have the option for that so that's the only thing I wish they included

Nah. What all controllers need is actual innovation in input design, not more of the same just better/more premium. Better/more premium is fine, but not needed. Controllers have stagnated for basically 2 decades. And even if you think they are good enough, there absolutely is room for improvement.

Don’t buy the elite 1 if the elite 2 is out. There is so many issues with it. I only experienced one of the issues.
