Don’t know if you’ve been out to the Polis area yet but I think a video about the area might be something that your older followers may be interested in. It’s not as British as Peyia, it is quieter. Maybe interviewing the ex pats here to ask them why they came, best things, worst things etc…?…

Tom, the best bet for a great “information” video, not a “monetised” one…The “Jedi” meet at The Half Way House on a Tuesday at about 1pm. This is a gathering of ex pats who have been in Cyprus for a long time. I am sure that Chaz, one of the Jedi founders, would be happy to do a Q and A with you and get a lot of the ex pats involved too. I will put it in my calendar as I’ve got a few ideas too.

@MichaelKay-lp3hn I'm not sure I'd live there but that's because I'm comparing to the house I've bought which is the house I've dreamt of for years. I'd take it as an investment property for holiday let's. I'd want go know if profits could be improved and how. I was born and raised in London to Cypriot parents and would love to live there but house prices are steep and then you need an income. Unless you have a good job lined up and cash money to buy a house then this is not doable for the majority. I can retire in a few years but my pension wouldnt cover the cost of living there and all my money would go into a property so I would have to continue working. I have been looking at other places like Bulgaria where you can get a lot more for your money and live comfortablely on a reasonable pension
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@inconvenientfacts6452 yeah lots of variables tho. Do you need a 380k rentable house to retire here? Or do you need an 80k house? If you have Cypriot parents you don't need to meet an earnings criteria. Why not rent a 2 bed apartment in Peyia for £500 per month, right next to all the bars? Anyway horses for courses, good luck with your future move to Bulgaria 🙏 I nearly moved there in 2005, very corrupt so moved to Portugal instead.
@inconvenientfacts6452Ай бұрын
@NuttersInCyprus I go to Cyprus at least three times a year and prices have shot up, even in the Northern side. Cypriots also like to own things and not rent haha, just the way we are. It's about doing the maths, what life you want and what you can afford.

@migadonte I'm unsure there will be ways around it. Somebody told me the other week that they are from the UK and have been offered a mortgage from a Cypriot bank. @RoyGregory-m6b of course you would see proof, my point was, just use a reputable lawyer to gather everything, they then send you the documents. You then review and complete. Whether they are related or not, unless they falsify the documentation, the truth is presented. And if they have falsified the documentation it disqualifies my first comment of use a reputable lawyer.

40 k income from rent sounds like rubbish to me , very basic rental that’s 20 weeks at 2 grand a week but don’t think this is worth anything like that that’s 20 weeks, or 5 months solid dreamland 😳😳😂😂
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@neilwharton720 depends what you want out of it. If your wanting to own a property in Cyprus and use it for 3 months for your self, then rent it out the rest of the year it's probably not a bad shout. Plus think I read somewhere properties increased 7% avg year on year in Cyprus.
@normanlee31Ай бұрын
I have lived in Cyprus 30 years! Would never buy here! Unless you are going to die in Cyprus! Takes years to sell and thats if you have full deeds! Much better to keep your property in the UK and rent it out and rent here!
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@normanlee31 very subjective
@normanlee31Ай бұрын
If I was your age I would never buy! You don't know if you want to still be here in 5 or 10 years. Property here does not sell quickly like in UK. I have had friends wanting to go home, the minimum sale time is 2 years but I know others who haven't sold after 5 years - currently on for way less than they paid for it. If you are in your sixties let's say and are sure you want to be here for ever and will never want to sell, maybe buy with extreme caution! If I were you I would put your money back into a UK property and rent it out. Much much safer and it's always there to go back to if you need it!
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@normanlee31 I heat that, but (1) we have already bought. (2) we know 1 thing, we definitely don't want to be in the UK in 5 years. (3) the house we bought was on the market for 11 days. (4) the house we tried to buy before that was sold within 2 months, we was out bid. (5) if we want to move back to the UK we will rent and then buy. (6) the rental yields are very similar in the UK & CY, only difference is your not crippled by the taxes in CY. As I say it's all subjective, horses for courses!
@normanlee31Ай бұрын
Ok. I hope it goes well for you! I don't know any area in Cyprus where houses have been sold so quickly. Maybe it's just exclusive to your area? If you feel it's really for you then go ahead, but too many have come over and bought in the 'honeymoon phase' and either regretted it or ran into endless pitfalls. Above all please make sure that the property you are buying has title deeds!
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@normanlee31 OK, thank you, it's in Sea Caves, St George. We lived in Portugal for 15 years, that's where I owned property, I have never wanted to own in the UK. it's just not somewhere I want to be. If we ever want to leave CY we have already discussed we would keep it as a holiday home and rent it out as a holiday let when not here. Our lawyers are going through all the legals at the minute, if no issues arise we will move forward with the purchase 🤞 All the best 🙏
