Hi Tom, Emily and boys. Hope everything is going ok. Hey, just in case you havent already done so, may I suggest that you boil water in the kettle and transfer it to a jug to cool down a bit, and then either pour into you water bottles or just leave the jug in the fridge. Might help with cost of water. I've been doing it in the UK for sometime because I no longer trust the water here anymore! 🥴👍🙂🍻🙏

Now that the UK has left the EU your time scale is silly tight. Good luck, your gonna need it. Cyprus is NOT cheap and the Russian incomers are making it worse. Rental rates are going through the roof. Think twice before you commit yourself to anything.

My husband wants to know cost of taking car to Cyprus? In church get the kids to light one candle for those alive and one for the deceased , the priests wife taught me this, otherwise us orthodox would be lighting hundreds of candles , yes a small coin is always a nice gesture, love the videos, especially watching you tackle the language, here’s a tip, learn with your boys, listen to Greek songs and sing along for pronunciation! Dear Tom and family. I dont think some people realise just what it takes to make videos for a You Tube channel! I don't have one but I know people that do, and I also know from their downloads just how much time and effort that goes into even a 30 minute video! The editing takes many hours, as does the final decision about what to upload. It takes, time effort and ultimately skill to provide for viewers, especially on channels like yours and Cyprus Insight. From where I'm sitting, both are wonderfully informative and thoroughly enjoyable! Considering you've not long started this channel, I think you're doing great mate! Much appreciated, yes, its hard work and I spent hours and hours doing the videos, with time I'm expecting it to get quicker but as a newby, I'm still learning while on the job....and the simplest of edits take me forever.

Hi guys! Love your videos. I’m Cypriot myself so when you drive around Cyprus anything you see with ‘Agios’ is pronounced ‘Ayios’ which means saint. So this area you were in was Saint Georgios’ just to help you out a bit 😂 keep up the good work!!

The missus and I stayed there a couple of years ago. The hotel is very nice, the entertainment is a bit lacklustre but do recommend a trip over the road to the Sapphire Bar for good value food and good entertainment especially on Elvis night (the owner is brilliant fun as Elvis)

Hi guys, well done on your first 1,000 subs. Info: the G in Greek is normally not a hard sound. It is pronounced as a Y - so Ayios Yorgious - the middle g of the name is a hard g. It translates as Saint George and the icon in the Church was of Saint George (and the dragon) same as in England. It is normal and respectful to put a coin in the box when you take a candle - there was a slot to the right of the candles. Not much, even 20 cents will do. Look forward to your next video. x

I used to work in the Middle East and Paphos has been my base since the late eighties. A great place to live but not without its drawbacks. Our youngest daughter went to The International School of Paphos. It was a good school with some fantastic teachers, but like most Cypriots, we ended up paying €400 per month in extra tuition fees on top of the ISOP fees. Our three granddaughters go to state school, and our eldest daughter has to pay extra tuition fees for English and Maths. I would also advise your wife not to do any work until she has a work visa in her passport, the promise of visas here is like that old adage,the cheques in the post. If she's caught, she will be arrested and deported. My daughter was restaurant manager at one of the big hotels and they were regularly raided by Immigration and half the staff who were waiting for their visas were arrested and deported. Not trying to rain on your parade. I'm just trying to give some idea how it works here.

@jimbuchan8055 cheers Jim thanks for the heads up and thanks for watching, before we do anything we always get legal advice from the immigration lawyer we use! He said in the way we was planning on doing it, it would have been legal. However, we decided it's best for Emily not to take any work and for me to add an extra client to my UK consultancy company. With the Kids they are going to state school, I'm not sure how much your daughter is paying for extra English & Maths lessons, but let her know that there are online schools that start at about 29 per month, per child, with a full years worth of work in Maths, English, Science and so on. Or you can use sites like Udemy for kids courses on computer coding, art/drawing, personal finance, business, writing and so on! Also when we left the UK I got a friend of ours who's a substitute teacher to send me over all of her work sheets by email so i can print them off. Also it might be worth mentioning to your daughter there is a great website called K5Learning which is great for maths sheets etc and some of them are free to print.

Mezes are usually too big for us. We tend to use peyia tavern as our go to place and just order what we want and can handle the food is very very good as is the family. Very friendly amiable and great hosts

@Louis-b7v was £1750 + some change, you can fill the car up to the brim with stuff. But you and the car have to meet certain criteria to bring it over tax free and duty free like I did.

15 August is an important holiday in the Greek Orthodox Church commemorating the death of the Virgin Mary and her assumption to Heaven. Shops and businesses vary in the amount of holiday they take but August is normally the month that Cypriots take annual leave. x
