I'm coming to the realization that Arty wishes the ladder was run like one of these old school team houses - everyone trying to get better, and if you all in or cheese at all you get your gamer card revoked
@Gris006 ай бұрын
Which is based. Everyone on the ladder are trash who Flood the ladder with inflated MMR and don't belong at high rankings. People play lazily and win, complete trash

You are just now figuring this out?

All it would take is the community to shift to a 3rd party ladder system... top players in Aoe2 community did it successfully back in the day..
@alexfriedman21526 ай бұрын
@@Gris00 That's why Ladder doesn't mean much. I see some literal S rank players who are legit so bad mechanically but they just abuse. Also the system is broken when players own multiple accounts and keys. Not to mention eveyone sandbags on purpose to get easy wins.

We also used to play RTCW: ET a ton. Scrimmages for 3-5 hours, then another 3-6 hours of pubs before and after. It's just not efficient, and in fact, better to watch top level replays and learn new methods and other ways. Felt the same when we used to grind C&C: Red Alert 2 or playing musical instruments. Too much grinding ingrains bad habits, and you start focusing on perfecting some set methods you have in your mind that are "the best" and end up experimenting less (which, after you have built up a good amount of the fundamentals, experimenting is far more important in the long run)

Also: I really believe the history of the rise of SC/Esports in SKorea should deserve some movie or maybe in worst case Korean drama. 😂 Seriously, I enjoy your history lessons, take care.

you are completely right about korean workculture, they try soo hard it starts being toxic to their health in many ways, balance is very important too, but you simply cant deny that their laser focus culture of being the best works out because they are the best at many things already, amazing hardworking people

They're literally working themselves to extinction. Not only is South Korea the only OECD nation in the world with a birth rate below 1.0 (roughly 2.0 to 2.1 is needed just to maintain a population and economy so people can retire and so on), last year's number was .68, 1/3 of the US and 1/2 of other countries with a declining pop like Japan. And Seoul is even worse, at .55. And this is after the government spent 300 billion in the last two decades to fix it. It's their biggest political issue right now. It's insane. It doesn't even pay off, because their productivity rate per person is one of the worst out of all advanced economies, bad enough the IMF did a whole study on it.

Whats a all in build?
@Sc9cvsd6 ай бұрын
A build with a timing attack that is win or lose but more involved than basic cheese. A 4 pool is just cheese, it's I guess technically all in as well since if it fails game over, but usually when they refer to all in build it's something like lurker rush vs terran, or ling flood vs protoss. Also a strategy can turn all in, like a zerg going muta vs terran isn't all in, but if they keep making muta and stop teching it can turn into an all in situation where the zerg either needs to win with the muta or if the terran holds they will for sure win
