Played his best as a 10 instead out wide. He dazzled, linked up play like no other. Was so angry with him though initially when Shonga came. The guys seemed to not pass him, Sundowns win at Loftus being the most obvious. Meme & attacking guys would starve Shonga the ball until he was offside. I wonder if they did that intentionally because he was a newcomer (those who played the game will know what I'm talking about) or was it because they didn't have an understanding, chemistry, movements?

It's a pity Memela started his professional career late because he would have been a much bigger player with higher legendary status. He was of the mold of old-school midfield schemers. He controlled the midfield & team like an orchestra conductor.

Orlando Pirates made a blunder by letting Memela go. After he left it took time to replace him. His replacement only arrived now in the form Maswangayi

But Tim Sukazi is been a problem to Pirates and again as much as we loved Memela and he broke our hearts. The reason he was given unimproved contract was because he was always injured.
