I am a veteran journalist and I just want to say you guys did a great job with this mini-documentary. You explained his roots, his impact and untimely passing. You laid out the facts, didn't offer conjecture, and allowed viewers to draw their own conclusions. Also some great photos I've never seen before. Great job!

From a white kid on a council estate in Middlesbrough North East England, while my mates where flying high listening to the likes of Marley, Tracy Chapman, UB40 etc it was Tenor Saw that i repeatedly played, his death was Reggaes loss, such a talent and what a voice, RIP Tenor Saw 😢 Never Forgotten Ring the Alarm upstairs bro

Even though Tenor died before I was one I'm so drawn to him and it never stopped bothering me his case is unsolved. I love the oldies and reggae music back then. No one now has a patch on him, Nitty Gritty, Sugar, Bob, Peter. Maybe Sizzla and Buju. But a lot of people died back then like Rankin Toyan. His poor mother and family. The industry is very wicked and some will not sell their soul. Some choose to. You can barely find info on him. I recently found out he lay deceased in the morgue while everyone looked for him. Then one rasta sent his sister and she immediately recognised it was him laying there 😢 Still unsolved like so many others
@daniellehilton4860Ай бұрын
I feel just the same as you do. We must be kindred spirits. Thank you for the updates on the part about the morgue. I did not know about that. Let us keep praying that one day soon the murderer will be found. God bless you for having a good heart. I myself was teenager when he died. I never listened to his songs until much later and I just fell in love with his voice spirit I was so proud of him on the way he pushed himself to become an artist. God bless the person who gave him a chance to become one of the greatest reggae artists ever!

Why is it that no one every suspected Dr. Dread in the death of Tenor Saw? Based on this video, he may have exhausted resources, including initial payments to Tenor, only to be later disappointed with Saw’s no show.

@@AS-wj1duDid you watch the video? I ask because he was featured in the video; see his photograph @ the 7:09 mark. He is credited as CEO of RAS Records and struck an album deal with Tenor that ended in failure because of the latter’s disrespectful no-show. Let’s just say “Dr. Dread” isn’t Jamaican or black.

I heard it was a drug debt. Tenor Saw did not pay the people he owed. They beat him up somewhere and dumped him off at the road side where he died of exposure. This happened in the United States

With all the respect I have for Supercat's skills, what he said in 2019 really doesn't help his image. He was a suspect in the murder of Nitty Gritty, rumors pointed to him for the death of Tenor saw, and then he says that Yami Bolo, the only surviving member of the group of friends should have died instead of Tenor....

@joediboss3425 Жыл бұрын
Yow..supercat was blame for nitty gritty murder and not tenorsaw's....nitty gritty approach cat in his studio with gun drawn so cat shot and kill him first hence the jury justified the killing and cat never took jail
@Ibnafrika Жыл бұрын
@@joediboss3425 I thought Cat's brother had a dispute with Nitty Gritty - something about damaging Gritty's rental car - and when Gritty went to Cat's record store & was berating Cat's brother; Cat involved himself in the dispute; shooting & killing Nitty Gritty. Cat may have beat the case but will still have to meet his maker.
@AS-wj1du Жыл бұрын
Super cat killed nitty gritty and people saw it. Apparently self defence. They accused nitty of killing Tenor although he was in England when Tenor died. No way he did it. It could be hit and run, promoters or fake friends. But they want to blame someone so because super cat killed nitty and nitty and Tenor were friends they came up with that.
