Beng from Tennessee and holders of a concealed carry permit, my wife and I were scrutinized closely when we did a day excursion to Canada. Questions of firearms obviously came up. We told them all firearms we had on the trip were secured in our camper in Montana. They advised us that we would be subjected to a “declaration validation procedure” which is a nice way of saying the truck would be searched. They did their search and we were on our way after about 45 minutes. As others have said, “when in Canada, you follow Canadian laws”. I will say that the border officials were very nice and accommodating to us and our to dogs during the process. They were doing their job….

You talked about the feeling of Awe and excitement seeing the mountains and scenery, and it reminded me of my first Cruise, I woke up early and went out on deck of the ship and as far as the eye could see was water and as the sun rose over the horizon I felt so overwhelmed with just how beautiful the sunrise actually was, and just how small we were on the ocean, it was beautiful and humbling at the same time, and ever since that first morning on every cruise I have been on I always get up really early to watch the dawn break and the sunrise over the ocean.

Rae, been watching and subscribed to this channel since way back at the beginning and just have to comment on how much the RV life has changed you (for the better, IMO). When you and Jason first started out you were so tense and nervous all the time, or so it seemed to me, very high strung and worried a lot. Years later you seem so much more relaxed, so much less stressed. It's been great to watch your transformation over the years, along with Jason's, so very glad you are both back on the road again, posting your adventures!

Just recently went to Mrytle Beach SC. from Ontario Canada. Border was so easy. Its so over hyped if you are legitmately going for a legal trip have nothing hide then there are no issues. We have our back window down hats off before even getting to the window. Only driven through the border 6 times now round trip and have only been max 1 min at the window. Our detroit trip literally went just go to a white castle and pawn jewlery and loan that airs on TV as Hardcore pawn. Guard just looked at us like okay never heard that before your good. Mrtlye beach with roomates 7 years ago random spantaneous trip at 11pm got off work had 5 days off asked the roomates if they wanted to go somewhere we booked our hotel and hit the the road at 1am. Crossed at Niagra also funny with the guard with just a random spantaneous trip 16 hours south. This past March also went go Mrytle Beach with family drove down no issues. If you have nothing to lie about there is nothing worry. Pull me into secondary for me would love to watch what they do on TV in person. If Iam a criminal or hidi g something absolutely would be stressing hard.

Hey been watching you guys since you started but I may have missed this question or VLOG, how has the change from one of the largest most comfortable 5th wheels to a compact system as a bed camper been? IE: drivability handling fuel mileage the overall driving experience? the comfort and portability of the truck camper? simplicity of parking setup and side of the road naptime? and overall feelings of the change. I've seen the renovations but may have missed your take on your switch to this unit. Thanks and happy and safe Travels!!!
@GetawayCouple7 ай бұрын
I guess we haven't sat down and really talked about the change in front of the camera. I feel like we mention small changes in vlogs as we realize them. But, overall we love the change! The fuel milage is better, but not much. With the fifth wheel we were getting 8-9 miles per gallon and now we get 10-12 miles per gallon. We thought we'd miss all the space of the fifth wheel but we really don't. Plus traveling with truck camper is so easy, that we're definitely exploring more than we ever did with the fifth wheel. For example, moving days was always about getting to the destination but with the camper we can stop if anything piques our interest. It's super easy to take out to lunch, go grocery shopping, etc. The stress of always needing to have a campground booked is gone too, because we know we can pretty much pop off anywhere and find a site or a boondocking/lotdocking place to crash for the night. It fits our travel style better because we realized we're not huge planners lol.

@ronnieterry49167 ай бұрын
Canada border guards always ask if you are carrying fire arms? I crossed into Canada from Washington state in the mid 1990s and I crossed six times into Canada during the early 2000s from Michigan into Canada. During the 1990s and the early 2000s back in those days there was no questions about fire arms. Why is the Canadian border guards so hung up on fire arms? What in the he'll are you going to do if you are suddenly being charged by a very aggressive wild animal? Much of Canada is still very remote and the back country has several spieces of wild animals and yes wild animals can be very dangerous. Many times wild animals will run when they hear human beings approach but there are also many times where wild animals are very aggressive towards humans who are peacefully walking or camping in back country locations.
@gnomealone-gu6kr6 ай бұрын
I guess they’re hung up on it because it’s the law of the land. Which you’re obligated to obey as a visitor. And somehow the vast majority of Canadians who head into the back country manage to survive without carrying a gun.
