My feelings on this is, it'll come out when it comes out, and when they're ready to announce, they'll announce. I can certainly understand them being a bit gun shy on this. Sean is smart enough to never let the events of 2016 happen again, and I applaud him for it. I'm excited for LNF, but I'm happy to wait. I feel it will be well worth the wait.

Why wouldn't you go to a relatively big awards ceremony where your game is nominated for an award? Also "speculated very heavily" means nothing except a bunch of fans wondered if it was going to happen, which mutated into them expecting it to happen, which mutated into disappointment when it didn't happen.

My take on this is that the way they are handling LNF is informed directly by a few factors: - the events of 2013-2016 and the resulting fallout. - the fact that LNF is a new IP, as compared to updates to NMS- the latter of which Murray still approaches with no small level of care, preferring cryptic messaging to announce NMS updates, which I believe is Sean being more than just 'cute' or 'coy'. -The growing vitriol, divisiveness, and entitlement in the gaming community as a whole. HG, and Murray in particular, are likely intentionally keeping any information to a minumum until they are closer to the final product.

Ain’t gonna lie I complained because I just finished a long ass Expedition to get a spaceship in colors I don’t really care for, then they drop one with a better color for some to claim with minimal effort . Shit is sad but maybe I’m just a cry baby .

Players just want to know the progress of game development regularly, even if it's just a simple development log. It's like having a progress bar during game loading to ease your anxiety.

Since this is a recent video that has no man sky as the subject, I have a question. When trading a freighter ship, does my cargo transfer into the new freighter or should I pack it up into a ship and then transfer. (I already know about transferring my base over by saying yes or no meaning my previous freighter base)

As the founder of one of the earliest hubs as well as an intense supporter on social media early on, I sat myself up for unnecessary disappointment trying to dig in and instigate change in behavior from HG. The company is a different breed. Cobra allowed the fog and unknown to negatively impact his experience

meh game awards are fixed....how else does a game that only sold 1.5 million copies[astrobot] that is ONLY on ONE platform[PS5] that ONLY released in September[6/9/24] get the GOTY??? IMO sony BOUGHT the award and proved that the game awards are fake,rigged and for sale... regarding LNF let HG cook and they will deliver a good game

Only ever played on pc and Steam and i cannot get the ship. I have the original one. I click it on Steam the game starts i go to the Nexus and not in the Quicksilver menu.

releasing a new trailer without the game being finished at least up to 90% would be too risky. Usually the last 10% takes months if not years to get done properly. I do think HG had the core technology and game mechanics done but not the story and not the multiplayer stuff, which is essential to the game. And if you consider that MP in No Man's Sky still is buggy as hell i can imagine, that this really is a challenge for them.

Sean Murray, and the rest of HG, are most likely making sure that LNF does NOT become a repeat of NMS’s launch. They have gone silent for a purpose, so just have some patience. LNF will no doubt deliver when it eventually launches.

Am the only NMS player who is not too worried about all the lack of announcements? o_O I rather them take their time and make the game they are happy with, then to try to rush it. I mean they had a rough start to NMS and I think they do not want to repeat it. But they did at least want to let people know they are working on something else, so why the NMS outcomes. Meaning like delays or longer work times etc... so there is transparency and not worrying people. Less hostility from community. I get people getting restless, but I am sure it is ALOT of work going into the new game, maybe even more indepth than NMS in someways. So really rather than just be happy and ready for it, then keep giving us trailers to get us over hyped if that makes sense? Either way, I am excited to hear about Light No Fire when they are ready! There were several reasons why they could have been there. They were possibly going to win an award. Their name was on one of the trailers that was shown (overcooked). Could have been there to hype and promote that. It was the 10th anniversary of the awards. Could have just been there to celebrate and support that alone. They also could have just went to the awards to go to awards. There doesn't have to be some underlying reason for someone to do something you know.

I don't recall seeing any speculation either official or from outlets saying there was an announcement. This sounds like community speculation to me, which it isn't really fair to hold them to. The community were speculating this year with no evidence.

I love no man's sky. They just need to add more story missions instead of these Dumb a** expeditions, but regardless hello games in my eyes have built up goodwill. So even if light no fire comes out a little choppy, I have faith that they will fix it.

I think a big difference this time around I bet they are using a lot of NMS coding, etc so that’s probably perfected at this point. They also learned, as we all know, their lesson to not release as expected. It’ll be fine and well polished and GoTY. 😂
