Great video JB! Having a lower budget my cranking reels are the BB1 Pro and KVD in 6.2:1. You can bomb cast with 12 or 14 floor on these reels. I'll use a lighter rod and LFS reel with 10lb for 3xd and 1.5 flat. They cast great!

I don't know what you do for a living Sir, but good on you ! to be able to afford that many rods,reels, and combos is indeed a success story, I fish with 2 Zebco closed faced spincasters, and 2 Lews 100 dollar combo's, my most exspensive reel being the Custom Lite spin reel I won from you., guess I;m just old school, hard to wrap my head around a rod and reel for every bait and situation under the sun.

I am doing the same thing when mine gets here on Monday. I’m putting it on Lew’s KVD 7’ Composite Cranking Rod. Been using the KVD 6:2:1. Nothing wrong with reel, just love the size and weight of the Custom Pro Gen 3. A lighter reel should make big difference cranking.

@@JB3_fishingNow that the reel is here I think I’m going to go with one of those custom lite cranking rods also. With the lite reel you need a lite rod to really make things lighter. Already have the 6’10” custom lite spinner bait rod and the 7’ all purpose rod for flukes.
