I'm in charge of running and maintaining an on-prem fax server for my org due to regulations requiring me to do so. My upstream IT doesn't know how to activate the T.38 protocol (the de facto standard for faxing over IP networks) on the SIP trunk. FML. Fortunately, the server can still fall back to a slower, more error prone passthrough protocol, but some fax machines out there still refuse to talk to it. FML x 1E9! 😭
