Spells are projectiles. Even the killing curse can just be avoided, they do it in the series. Ripping open a scar with the force would certainly distract someone. Luke can focus on any spot and apply a lot of force to it, causing the scar tissue to rip open. Jedi are very powerful, he could literally pull Harry's wand from his hand, snap it in two, his saber can certainly block any spell Harry sends at him, and his reflexes are LEAGUES better than Harry's. Luke would win easily, the only thing Harry could do was stall.

Or better yet, make reactions to all Star Wars movies while you're at it^^ Since you know about Vader being Luke's father you wouldn't have to watch in the order some people recommend (4,5, then the prequels before 6), but could watch them in chronological order, that being: - 1,2, - the Clone Wars, first the 2003 aside from the last season then the 2008 Clone Wars up to season 6, then last season of 2003 Clone Wars, -then 3rd movie, then season 7 of 2008 Clone Wars, - then Rebels, except for the last episode (it has spoilers at the end for the ending of 6 movie) - then Rogue One - then movies 4, 5, and 6, - then Mandalorian - ... aaaand that's it, because there's NOTHING ELSE.

@@quintessencenevermore2660 What ABOUT Yamcha- I mean, 7, 8, and 9? In case you didn't get the joke, they are trash, a joke, a convoluted mess in terms of writing, and an offense to the Original Trilogy. I will admit that they do have good moments in them, and 7 was overall okay even with all its flows, but it's only downhill from there. How bad is it? To the point that somebody in Disney allowed Filoni to make the sequels non-canon with the second season of Mandalorian! Really, the events there already go against events established in the sequels! So it's not just fans who think the sequels are bad, Disney itself considers them bad and they've made them!

The sequels are actually the same, they are like bad fanfiction of the previous movies. I happen to actually both read and write fanfiction myself ^^; So I don't consider all fanfiction bad, quite frankly, a lot can be better than the original source. At the very least they are entertaining to read. But do you know how to spot bad fanfiction? Well, there are many things that can point to that, but one of the bigger ones is when the author of fanfiction takes characters from the source material, and then doesn't treat them with respect. I don't know what they've done with Artemis Fowl as I do not know the source material or even seen that movie, but this is exactly the case with the Star Wars sequels. Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, they are all well-established characters from over 40 years ago and loved by all the fans, and what happens with them and how they are portrayed in the sequels is just utterly disrespectful, all to make those new characters seem better in comparison. It is fine to introduce your own characters, to bring new generation to the forefront of the franchise, but you just don't do what the sequels have done.

Jedi (and Luke) have a sort of precognition. Provided their mind is clear and they are in tune with the force, they can see a short distance into the future in combat, allowing them to (for the most part) see incoming attacks and block them before they occur. It's not garunteed detection, but it works a lot more than it doesn't. This is how he could block everything. The force is also a powerful offensive and defensive tool. Even if it wasn't his scar, Luke could have used the force to stop Harry's heart or so, or used force lighting, or one of many other possible outcomes. If you're another force user you can normally defend against such attacks through the force in one way or another, but alas, Harry is not. Harry had a wide range of spells on his side, but Luke could see most of them coming and had defenses against seemingly all of them, with or without lightsaber. It was only a matter of time. Harry could only win with a lucky shot, but against a force user, that's quite the difficult feat to achieve

I agree that the scar thing was pretty stupid since physically it's not that different from the surrounding skin. However I don't think it would have really changed the outcome if it hadn't happened. TBH this fight was always tilted against Harry, since in the breakdown they slightly puff up Harry's abilities and SEVERELY lowball Luke's. In the books Harry is above average in terms of his magical ability (in general as he is much better at some disciplines than others). However, Luke is one of the most powerful force-users to ever live. Grandmaster Luke (Luke at the apex of his power, which he reaches after the end of the original trilogy) could probably levitate all of hogwarts and throw it into space. Of course if you follow the disney canon none of that happens and instead of becoming a grandmaster Luke just gives up and becomes a sad old failure

@@chefcircuit5392 he was sort of brainwashed/influenced by the emperor in the first dark empire graphic novel (the reborn emperor had defeated him in a lightsaber duel and then used the force to sort of suppress Luke's individuality/personality to then get him to fight his sister. Leia however refused to fight luke, and used the force herself to retrieve Luke's spirit if you will from a prison of darkness in his own mind. After that, luke developed at least a resistance, possibly immunity, or just knowing about the ability was prepared to counter it. He had a rematch with the emperor, and beat him easily this time, largely due to the emperor's abilities no longer being able to disrupt luke's awareness or connection to the force. The emperor tried to use a force storm to destroy the new Republic fleet, but luke and Leia used the light side to disrupt the emperor's control of the storm, and the emperor and his flagship were consumed by his own force storm. At some point luke also learned teutaminis (probably misspelled that), becoming more powerful than Yoda was with the ability even, allowing him to catch lightning and even redirect it. He also developed several other abilities involving force lightning. He could use the dark side force lightning if he drew on the dark side or let his emotions fuel his force abilities, having learned it while the apprentice of palpatine, but he also later developed at least two light side versions of force lightning. One was simply a superficial attempt to simulate it by using telekinesis to rub dust and air particles in the air to generate electricity in the air from the friction causing static electricity, but he also developed a truly unique ability called electric judgement (I think that was what it was named). Luke also experienced the embrace of pain, which could disrupt a Jedi's ability to use the force (basically it's a living organism engineered to be furniture that causes pain to whoever is in it (it monitors how much pain the person is in, increasing the pain if it senses they can experience more without causing them to faint), but luke basically powered through it. Luke could also break mandalorian iron armor (beskar) simply by tapping it and channeling the force into it, causing it to shatter. He experienced force lightning torture a few more times before he considered himself a Jedi master (after he defeated the reborn emperor), but force lightning wasn't really a threat to him anymore after that point. He also could apply a telekinetic effect to an object that remained even after he did not have line of sight or even was in proximity to the object. He pinned his nephew to a wall, and his nephew couldn't move even after luke left the room, an office aboard a star destroyer. His nephew was only able to move several minutes later after luke had left the ship. The only thing that was a threat to luke when he was at his peak was Abeloth, but Abeloth was a force entity (a bit like C'Thulu), and could not be defeated in the long term using conventional methods anyway (let alone permanently destroyed, the only thing that could kill her permanently was the knife of mortis). At that point luke could fight between 3 and 5 sith lords without much of a problem. There were other abilities luke could use that they didn't show in the death battle, but the list is too big for me to remember them all.
@jayburn003 жыл бұрын
@@chefcircuit5392 by the way, luke could also do the equivalent of astral projection later on. Other telekinetic feats: being able to apply enough pressure to an office chair that he flattened it like a pancake (he was doing it as a warning to not mess with him), and could pilot a ship like the falcon while using telekinesis to control the gun turrets. He could alter memories of even other jedi. By the way, luke was not even the most powerful of the new Jedi order when it came to manipulating the minds of others. Corran Horn was even better at it (if you are familiar with bleach, Corran Horn could create mass hallucinations similar to Aizen's zanpaktou). He did some funny things with it actually and considered using it to prank another student he had issues with at the Jedi academy into thinking they had gotten themselves dressed already when they only had underwear on. Corran could even affect Luke when he first used it, though luke was the first one to realize what was going on and was able to cancel out the effects on everyone else.

They really downplayed Luke in this. He was able to fight entire armies of warriors buffed against the force singlehandedly, fight so fast he looks like he's wielding 20 ligjtsabers at once, bring down walkers the size of skyscrapers, beat force demigods and entities that could crack open planets, and even move an artificial black hole.

What's a Jedi? the first chance you can get, you gotta watch all the Star Wars movies. Recommend the first trilogy, Episodes 4, 5, & 6, because 1, 2 & 3 are prequels which contains multiple foreshadowings lol, 7, 8, & 9 are sequels, 30 years after 6 lol. Plus 2 spin off movies: Rogue One & Solo.

Most spells in Harry Potter have a projectile... and we have seen people dodge those projectiles... I think... Avada Kedavra at least is a projectile and Luke could easily either block or dodge any projectile after all the force allows a jedi to see the world differently allowing the jedi to react to things that have not happened yet... This allows the jedi to use their lightsabers to redirect incoming blaster fire and if spells are projectiles then the force could help Luke to avoid them as well... Now a Jedi's guard can be overwhelmed even if you see into the future doesn't mean you can do anything about it... Jedi have fallen to normal people in many ways... Overwhelming blaster fire, slug throwers (weaker modern day guns), flamethrowers, grenades, there are many ways to even the playing field against Jedi... and once the field is even it is only a question of skill... as for the scar... how I read the situation is that Luke used the scar as an origin point to tear Harry's skin apart causing enough pain that harry couldn't focus anymore... which lead to Luke ending the fight with a lightsaber throw...

To give the gist on what Jedi are they're basically space monks/wizards with laser swords a Jedi uses its powers for knowledge and defense but never to attack and kill a Sith will do that to anyone now onto the Sith they are the ones who use the dark side of the force they are driven by hate revenge and they carry a red lightsaber this includes Darth Vader with the Sith there can only be the Master and apprentice with Jedi it's the padawan,master and grand master

BTW, this is the REAL Luke, from EU, before Disney utterly humiliated - borderline castrated - his character with the sequels.
@Kaempfdog3 жыл бұрын
Easy there bud. We’ll allow him to make his own decisions on those movies if he watches them. From only the movie perspective I think Luke was just fine. With rest of the lore and whatnot released, yeah it’s a little more up in the air.
@catxborsuq13 жыл бұрын
@@Kaempfdog Just fine? No it very wasn't. Slight spoilers. I fail to see how turning the most caring, proactive person Luke was since episode 4 to the coward that abandoned everybody he loved, then was humiliated by that Mary Sue who stole his story, his destiny, his lightsaber, his NAME, can be "just fine". Yes, "character development" regarding that first part, okay, BUT, we didn't see that development, aside from a minute-long flashback to ONE event. This MIGHT be somewhat showed in books and comics, but, and I know it might come as hypocritical for someone who loves EU, stuff explained there doesn't excuse the lack of material presented in the movies, that's relying on other people filling the gaps the screenwriters of the movies had made. Prequels are still considered bad by many people because they had done just that (I personally enjoy them but nvm that). BUT, the difference with OT was the the EU explained what happened AFTER the movies. Yes there were some in between them, best example being the game and novel "Shadows of the Empire" that takes place between 5 and 6, but in this particular case I was referring to Luke as he was from episode 6 to afterwards.
@Kaempfdog3 жыл бұрын
@@catxborsuq1 Spoilers! Lets see....he failed to become a true Jedi since he actively used the dark side to beat Vader, got PTSD from it, and then had the entire culture of Jedi heaped on him and turned into a crotchity old man when one of his students hurdled down the dark side which made him try to kill him to avoid having another Vader. (dark side thinking go, figure) He hesitates but the damage was done. That fits quite well if you ask me. Do I like that happened to Luke? God no. But I love the way it got portrayed. Luke never mastered the light side. He found himself getting swayed not just in episode 5, 6, and beyond, which is why in episode 9 I thought Rey would overpower Palpatine by combining the light side and the dark side. That would’ve completely changed how the force would need to be thought of. That’s what I got out of Luke’s progression in the sequels. Needed to be focused on more than Finn’s pointless code talking story to help develop Rey and Luke more for sure but for what we got I’m satisfied
