@@kateyoung Thank you for the response! Agree with the other reply, it's more about hearing about the process of fabrics and brands you love that are maybe not so well known, maybe fabrics you know work better for certain types, classics you love, etc. Just learning from someone who looks at clothing and accessories all the time for different people as well as for yourself.

Kate, This is absolutely amazing. I really like how in depth you went. I also loved how you invited other perspectives in the mix. I definitely see what you mean by being able to develop not just your identity in fashion but in other forms of arts. Once I started to work as Visual Merchandiser for Nordstrom I was able to meet different Visual Stylists and soak up as much information about art as I could. I started in a very small store where in order to compete ( in terms of mannequin styling through photos ) I had to be specially creative with layering. Soon after I started my transition I had already started been molding who I was through how I dressed my mannequins and from then it all just sewed in together with my music production which I also had to find my voice in. It's really great hearing about it here because I could step back and actually see myself through what you and your peers said. Anyways, I doubt I would ever get the opportunity to work with you but I just wanted to commend you for these series!! Cannot wait for season 2. Would you be able to talk about your own development of style through Vogue ? I was looking through old videos of you on other channels and I see a progression for sure. I would love for you to take a step back and be more personal with styling by explaining how your own perspective on dressing came about. Many hugs from Canada!! 🌙

I hardly ever comment on any KZbin video because I just try to avoid issues with people. But when u commented on my previous comment, I was like OMG, she actually noticed me! As for fashion, ever since I was a kid, I've always been fascinated about it because growing up watching my late grandmother sewing dresses and gowns and learning to use the sewing machine at a very young age although the first time I touched her sewing machine, I remember I was like 4 years old and my pointer got stuck and the needle pierced right through my fingernail. But that didn't stop me from wanting to learn. I started to dress differently since high school, I always wanted to look different, noticeable yet fashionable at the same time without spending too much. I even learned to create a backpack out of cut jeans when I was in grade school. And even when my exes would take me to shopping, they always had to wait an hour or 3 because I am just so nitpicky and meticulous with details, even if it was just Topshop or Zara or H&M. I always look at the details, the stitching, and I even compared 3 of the same top or dress of the same size because the fittings were usually a bit different than the other. I even remember when I went to college and I only had 3 shirts to wear that my mom and I bought from a thrift store and the 4th shirt was a DKNY that my sister and I was fighting for so we had to schedule ourselves to wear it, lol! And I only had 2 pairs of hand-me-down jeans and the other pair had a period stain on the crotch area but I managed to revamp the jeans so that they would look distressed and fashionable at the same time. When I was younger, my biggest fashion influences were Pink, Willa Ford and Christina Aguilera. I was literally the only person at my high school who could pull a crop top in public even if I'm a trans. I kind of combined and merged my skills in drawing, painting and my love for fashion and art when it comes to photography. I'm a very shy person and I literally just took my own photos and videos. I did my makeup, my hair, my outfits, the lighting, props, backgrounds and I'd use anything for a tripod like a trash bin or stools or water bottles without using an expensive camera, hehe... Although it's really hard to achieve something when most people where I live can be a bit homophobic and judgmental, plus I barely even finished first semester in college cuz I had to drop out cuz I didn't want to be a burden to my parents. But right now, I'm getting older and I don't know where life will take me but so far, I have never even tried smoking, drinking, clubbing. Hehe..

The comment you made at the end about not taking the job too seriously because its about clothes was the exact opposite of what Anna Wintour said about people not taking her job seriously because it was about fashion. I think its all about perspective. Although your job is to do with something that society deems as a luxury rather than a necessity, its still regarded as a form of individual expression and as a form of art and by God do we need expression, creativity and art!
