If you're thinking whether to get ACC if you only have a controller - Yes. It's not easy but once you find a setup that matches your driving style, I find ACC really enjoyable with a pad. It's not as fast, precise or consistent, but it's still really good and you can definitely be faster than quite a few people with a wheel, and manage good lap times.

I have tried almost every settings on YT and haven't found the "One", but after spending many hours tweaking and testing different combinations i finally found a balanced configuration for my style. Vibration : 85 Deadzone : 10 Speed sensitivity : 50 Speed filter : 99 Speed steer : 8 Steer gamma : 1.8 Steer assist : Enabled I play on cockpit view so probably the experience will not be the same if you play 3rd vehicle perspective but if you're still struggling to get a good feeling it's worth the try. The car doesn't feel twitchy and is easy to control at high speeds, some YT settings even with high likes are absolutely undrivable for me. Edit: i am posting this on other controller settings videos, i am not looking for likes i just want to be helpfull because none of the posted settings helped me. Edit 2: If the steering is stiff in some cars or tracks, the only setting you need to slightly increase is Speed Steer.

I've been playing on a controller (I'm saving up for a wheel) and I have to say it's fine. Nothing like Forza Motorsport 7 which feels great on a controller with all the feedback etc. It's good enough to learn the tracks and have some fun but it's pretty limiting.

Playing PC2 on controller was what made me want a wheel most. I was lucky with Logitech hooking me up, but I think for a lot of people, playing a game like this on controller will make them want a wheel, not because its bad, but because they know there's a better experience out there.

Something very important regarding steer assist: when it's enabled, the car will be about 100kg heavier by default (excluding fuel). This change has been silently implemented with patch 1.3 and effectively makes you way slower than you should be and makes the cars feel a lot worse. Counter intuitively the best way to use a gamepad... is to bind it as a wheel. Then it will actually behave as you expect it to and not get the weight penalty, but it also comes with its own bag of downsides (you have to manually adjust input lock to not kill tires, make sure you have enough lock at all to make tighter turns and/or pit entries). Essentially you're screwed either way. If you wonder why this happened, wheel user whined to developers that gamepad users were keeping up with him. Gotta love the sim racing elitism.

I v tried, but I cannot. because I want simple setting, too much filter is not good, everything can be in the finger sensibility, I use the right stick with 2 fingers, and a big extension for more precision. But setting are shit here, I want something simple, like dirt rally 1 or 2

This comment was interesting until you stated that the developers intentionally made pad users slower, which is just absurd, so we cant really trust anything you say at this point. No developer is ever going to listen to wheel users whining and make things difficult for pad users on a console game.

I am not sure why nobody mentions in videos about using gyro on PS4 controller, which actually works very well in many racing games, if you cannot afford the wheel. I use gyro on my ps4 controller when I travel a lot and cannot take mybwheel with me and everything can be easly set up in steam.

The steering speed changes with the speed of the car. It's not just cosmetic.

Steering speed is literally how fast you can turn the wheels from left to right, nothing to do with the cars speed.

steering assist is doing the whole steering I recommend you disable it then experiment the settings 70% speed sensitivity 20-40% filter 20-40 steering speed gamma 4

Steer Speed only effects you, if you have the steer assist disabled. thats why your car behave so stupid when you turned the assist off. Steer Speed was at 1 percent and the wheel just couldnt react fast enough.

Steering with the game pad is fine on ps4. The main thing people will notice it that initially the steering is over sensitive. Dial it out in 5% increments and the game is massively enjoyable.

I got this on Xbox today and was able to get a good feel for it with these settings but idk what’s wrong now. I play on controller and when I turn my wheel is extremely slow to straighten back out, I have to turn the stick in the opposite direction just to straighten the car back out

acc is great with a controller. ive played acc, iracing, ac2, forza, and dirt 2 with controller and dirt 2 is the hardest. as long as you know how to actually race without most assists you are good.

@@paulocgr2000 Know your pain bro... Same here and after few hours on Silverstone I'm nowhere near to a clear solution. The only thing that I could say for sure, is that that for me, a 2015 Bentley is the best in terms of feedback with all the small adjustments in settings. If somehow, by pure chance I find that sweet point, especially in the initial sharpness I'll let you know. It might work for you as well or might not, but it will be worth to try for yourself.

Deadzone 5 Speed sensitivity 67 Filter 96 Steering speed 4 Gamma 4.0 Assist enabled Up to now only tested both Bentleys on Silverstone. Car control score 90. No stability control, TC on 4 and ABS on 5. Safe car setup and PB 2:04:420 but going down with almost every lap today.

One thing that I also tested was to play in a table with my arms resting on the table and using control freak i nthe analog stick, I felt it better to drive. This is something you may also try...

I really gotta practice with this game. I played gran turismo alot when i was younger and was pretty good but havent played a sim in years. Bought acc while it was on sale and damn its hard. Will be alot to get used to. The cars are all nuts and love to spin, i gotta get used to these physics but i dont think the starting controller settings help very much

i got really good at controlling the car, after having played the hell out of GT7, took a minute yo get used too as i believe it is a but harder; however, out of all the things i was expecting were gonna make the game difficult, the one thing that keeps robbing me of first places is the entering and exiting boxes, man, i keep getting penalized or disqualified for dumb shit.

Was about 2s off my wheel pace here, but I can get it down further. It'll feel a bit odd to begin with, since it's a lot sharper than, say, Forza, but you'll get used to it fairly quickly

It is decent but pretty hard on slow corners. You have to let go of steering earlier in a corner.

Unfortunately you can’t map any button on the console version (Xbox) As far as I can see you cannot map gas/brake to anything but triggers.

bit of a stab in the dark, but anyone know how this compares to how driving GT Sport on a controller feels? I'm not in a position to get a PC and wheel atm (one day though), so I've just got a ps4 and controller for now. I've played a fair bit of GT Sport on controller but that's kinda my only point of reference for GT3 cars, so if anyone's played both with a controller; is this game worth it? You can actually reassign buttons on the PS4 itself under Settings > Accessibility > Button Assignments. The only drawback is the reassignment works for the PS4 system as a whole, not just in game during a race. But it is simple to change them back again. Not a fan of the triggers myself.

That would not be ideal beuase the triggers are dynamic so you can accelerate and break at 40% or 60% or 100% with the triggers. With the buttons, it's either 0% or 100% because there is no dynamic input

I tried this game on a controller, it felt awful, specially because it has no limit on how much the wheel can turn on high speeds, so you push right on the analog and the car goes right off the track. It was clearly made with wheel in mind and controllers are a after thought.

I have a normal joystick and not a xbox 360 gamepad and I am playinh on PC. There are factors such as degrees of rotation, etc.. Also, it does not do good with curves and I always slam the wall. Any recommendations?
