Here in Texas zone 8b, I leave my Amaryllis in the ground outside all through the winter. They do die back, but then they return each Spring! Mine are scarlet red with white streaks. The two original "mother bulbs" have reproduced over the years (they are about 20 years old.) They have even put up two stalks of flowers each year, because the bulbs grew so large! The babies have grown on in different areas of my gardens. I removed them from the mother bulbs about every 2 years. Some of them are around 10 years old. They even survived the freak 3 degree temps we had in last winter in 2021. They put on a fabulous show every spring, without fail.

Very pretty! I would like to see more on cyclamen. I don’t have much luck growing the cyclamen from the florist/ grocery store inside and now I know - it’s probably too warm. Beautiful blooms! I planted some hyacinth bulbs in November in my unheated garage(zone 5). Don’t see any growth on the top of the pot though when I tried to dig in a little I did see some green growth on top of the bulbs. Could it be inadequate watering or maybe they got planted too deep?
