Isn't it crazy that the RV industry has "CONDITIONED" us to think "issues" with a new RV is perfectly fine? We need to hold the RV industry accountable and pass laws to protect us just like the lemon laws for cars.

Different experience here. We got our 2021 Lance 1995 in April after a 6 month wait. Camped out 7 miles from dealer right after delivery. Discovered a leak from the front window during a rainstorm the first night. Also hot water heater would not work on either shore power or propane. Microwave door would not pop open, but had to be pried. Dealer took care of these in an hour when we passed by on our way home.Tech repositioned/reattached seal, then water hose tested. Replaced thermal fuse on water heater. Ordered new microwave. Other than these, our experience has been trouble free. Camped out locally five times before going on a 2700 mile round trip from FL to upstate NY, without any problems. Really loving this Lance!

We bought a Lance 1985 in 2018. We had the same problem with the bottom drawer in the bathroom. The self closing mechanism broke. We took it to the dealer and they fixed it. We also have the recall on the stove, but the manufacturer was on hold during the pandemic. Lance has not sent out any repair kits. It also seems that all the RV places are super back logged. The left side of the bed drawer self closing mechanism failed on it. I decided to replace this myself since the dealer was so back logged. It was tough!! There is very little space to get ones hands into and also there is very little space to kneel in front of it. We have also had screws fall out of our stove top cover. Lock-tight would have been the way to go. One annoying item is our keyless entry pad is peeling. The numbers are falling off. This is possibly because where we store it, that side faces the sun. However, we love it. It is the perfect size for the two of us. Lots of storage, great size bathroom and we sleep too good in the bed! Ram

So off we went and bought a 1475. So far, (knock on wood) we seem to be outliers in terms of problems. One outside light worked partially which they had already picked up and parts were on order. Two, the CO/Propane moniter has gone nuts and won't quit beeping and flashing - finally pulled the fuse and haven't taken it camping due to no moniter. It will be in at the dealer for a week. BUT - we love our Lance and so far the dealer has been very responsive. Thanks for all your vids!

There is always something, although I must say our Tab 400 has had very few issues, a warranty issue were the shower assembly had a slight drip, nuCamp supplied a new assembly, a cracked side window, that was replaced, and the door handle had to be adjusted, it came with a dead battery,, that's on the dealer. we bought it in spring of 2018. We love it, we're on the road now. We've been about 13,000 miles in our camper so far, we're retired, so we travel. By the way, we had the factory install 194 watt solar on top, it's great. We just finished our 2nd boondock of trip at a beautiful winery in Tennessee called Delmonico, gorgeous, quiet, yet not far from rt 40. We're headed to TX, then Sedona, Moab, etc. then home. This is our 2nd travel trailer, our first was a Rockwood A frame pop up, the Thetford cassette toilet kept failing, and the control arm that lifted the frame failed, after a thousand dollars of repairs, it was a used 2017, we gave up and bought the Tab.

@@TravelswithDelaney Furion speaker mount not wired. Door handle on bathroom door dinged wall. Bedroom TV not hooked to Jensen. No pocket for fire extinguisher so no access to the loose kitchen faucet. Shower pan not solidly reinforced underneath. Speakers in bedroom installed wrong. One was one quarter inch from the reading light the other was 2 inches away. I flipped the CS speaker over and the spacing is correct. But now I have to exposed screw holes in the wall. Bathroom door latch was not holding. That resulted in the ding in the wall. Drawers under sink constructed poorly. Truma keeps throwing a fault code on electric. Works perfectly on Gas. Back upholstered wall not attached. The whole panel moves when you pull the cushions to make dinnette into a bed. One overhead cabinet door rubbing. Just so many QC failures. I was wondering if the REV takeover was going to result in these problems. And apparently it did. Adding more items. Hose to water pump cross threaded. Outlet for Truma water heater/furnace not wired. Part of the graphics not centered or complete. Wrong screws in the outdoor kitchen table portion so it grabs and drags and put extra strain on slides. Front blind will not stay up. Support wood under dinnette not fastened. So in essence not doing anything.

Hi Patrick. We have a 2021 Lance 1995 (took delivery in August). - I think it was already mentioned about the step light that works with your 'white' exterior/porch lamp. The stove recall is on Dometic to remedy (not Lance). The seals that hold the manifold to the burners/oven are the reason for the recall. The remedy publication [20E071] indicates the replacement of the three seals, bell washers & bolts. I have been working since December to get the recall satisfied, put there is a shortage of parts. You may want to alert the dealer in Texas of your unit needing the recall so they can get that parts kit ahead of time [Lead time is 2-3 months]. - The cooktop glass cover: I check the screws periodically and placed a pad under the glass while in transit. No issues. - The GoPower plug: Should have the same voltage as the curb side battery. We have been very fortunate in that the issues we have had with our Lance have been minor compared to our previous travel trailer. All manufacturers have 'some' issues and now with the need for more units in the market (thank you COVID-19), the RVers can expect a lot more issues as the industry is cranking them out with little (if any) quality control. Have watched your channel for a while and appreciate your incites and travels.

Thank you John! I did check out the light today and it did light on white. Doesn't make much sense to me. When that bright white light is on, you really don't need a light on the step. I wish they would have put that on a separate switch.

Pre-delivery inspections are really useful these days, especially when planning to be on the road with it for an extended period right afterwards. Once I am ready to finalize the deal, I would call someone not associated with the dealer, and preferably not even associated with the RVIA or any other industry group--totally independent, experienced RV service inspector--and have them come do an entire PDI. It usually costs around $200 - $250 in my area, and has always been worth it given how much money I'm about to spend. Even if everything checks out okay, you often get useful feedback on weak areas for your particular manufacturer or unit, what to watch for, the most critical maintenance to stay on top of in specific locations, etc. When things don't check out okay, this can save you all kinds of surprises, frustrations, loss of time in the future waiting for service, and often many thousands of dollars. (BTW, manufacturers choose their suppliers, so supplier quality issues are manufacturer issues as well.)

Thanks for the candid and fair review. We picked up our 2021 1985 in February and have traveled 5k miles with it. We had one wire off the eyebrow led’s that keep them on. Dealer corrected it on delivery. I appreciate your list so I can be proactive with the loc-tight. I too have found some minor issues and was able to easily correct. I have the oven recall fix kit from my dealer. Have not installed yet but it appears to be a 20 minute fix. I know it’s frustrating to be wrenching on new Rv’s. You can purchase new Rv’s with very few MFG QC issues. Liberty and Newell come to mind. No mass-produced Rv’s are delivered at 100%. I would consider the quality of Lance to be a above average value/quality propitiation when compared with the Elkhart TT’s with lower cost. High-end production and QC comes at a very high price. You usually get pretty close to what you paid for IMHO. The USA is a “biggest bang for your buck” market. I really wish I remembered that when I chose a USA TV vs the German version that was another 30k. I had to relearn that lesson! Thanks for your heads up and balanced review.

We have a new 2021 Lance 2375. Biggest issue so far is a shattered glass shower door. No idea how it happened, just found a pile of glass in the bathroom. Also, the slide out tray door has a lock that is difficult to lock/unlock, storage door on slide out has a lock mechanism that is totally rusted, and like yours, the propane bottle cover metal guides are loose due to stripped self-tapping screws. Very disappointing considering the cost of these trailers.

Ok i have to confess i spent 3 hours going over it with a fine tooth comb checking every nook and cranny testing everything looking with a light and a mirror. The other issue was one of the large drawers under the dinette got stuck and when Mike was able to get it opened again the ball bearings went all over the place! We had the same issue with the toy lock on our 2021 Lance 2285 (purchased in July of 2020). We noted the toy lock keys were missing when we picked up the trailer. The dealer fixed all of the other issues at our next visit, but just couldn't seem to get us the keys. Finally I called Lance directly and asked them to send me a new lock, which they did. I cut the old lock off with an abrasive cutoff wheel and an angle grinder. Problem solved! We now are in Williams AZ on a Route 66 road trip and are starting to have difficulties similar to yours with our slide (which is identical to a 1985 slide) binding and jamming. I am worried that we will end up in with the same slide problems you had. I am going to try a little lube, but I am not optimistic about the results. We are 2,500 miles from our New England home. This is an excellent video with lots of helpful information, perhaps the most helpful comment that you said and what our RV dealer told us right out of the gate is that RV trailers are rolling earthquakes , regardless of the price ... they are are all made of very lightweight materials aluminum , fiberglass , plastic and thin plywood this is due to buyers who want to be able to tow most trailers with gas powered 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickups ... I watched a video where someone put a GoPro video camera in their RV trailer to record what happens in the cabin of the trailer as it goes down the road , Wow , now that was an eye opener ... so everything needs to be nailed down or tied down or stowed in a safe secure manner ... I have two bungee type elastic straps that I use to prevent my refrigerator door from coming open during transit , I believe my wife may have not fully latched the door , it only happened once but it was a mess believe me , even our wall hangings like pictures in frames and towels in the bathroom and such are taken down and stowed before we ever head out on the road ... we have two slider doors that hang from a track on the ceiling rather than having hinges that have started moving and slammed shut hard during travel so I bought rubber door stops from Amazon to block them from moving before heading out ... these seem to fix that problem ... great video thanks ...

Most of the things you described I would consider to be normal RV problems. The slide out though is a serious issue. The only major problem I’ve had with our RV is the air conditioner went out on year three. The little things are almost innumerable and I definitely don’t keep track of it.

I own the exact same unit and quite frankly am amazed at the quality and attention to detail. Only three issues for me. The stove recall, one light with wiring short and the dvd player had sound but no picture. A cable had not been installed to the tv video in. Other than those, this trailer is a real peach.

Here's another great tip! It deals with the annoyance of a fitted sheet from coming off the corners of your mattress. Sew a little loop of material on the bottom of each of the sheet's corners. Place 2 thin ropes diagonally under the mattress with a clip (or hook) to grab the top corners, then pull the ropes tight to the opposite corner and tie a knot. When it's time to wash the sheets, just untie the ropes and disconnect the top corners from the ropes.

Your key issue is on the dealer... We are also waiting on a Dometic repair kit. We also had a problem with our screen door being installed a bit crooked. It took me 3 or 4 tries to get it adjusted correctly. I also an issue with the track on the propane tank cover. Mine was installed a bit crooked. I took them off, sat the cover on the tongue, marked where it should go, and reinstalled it. Easy fix. I also make sure to tighten EVERY screw regularly.... Lance 1995

Thanks for your honest review of problems, I was surprised to see so many issues on such an expensive make. Unfortunately you are letting Lance off the hook - the quality assurance process is very questionable. The fact that they did not catch the issue with the slide out or even test your furnace is indicative of this. Sure, all TT have issues but you would expect more when you pay so much more. One advice I give new buyers is to only buy from a dealer that will set up your TT on their lot (with water in the tanks) so that you can spend one afternoon and one night on their lot to put the camper through its paces and with an appointment for the next morning to fix everything that you catch during your test stay. This gives you the opportunity to test everything (I mean every lights, faucet, heater, ac, stabilizer jacks, TV, speakers, open and close every cabinet door, drawers, bake cookies in oven, freeze ice in freezer, boil water on stove top, test every outlet inside and out, test slide, canopy, exterior shower, test batteries by disconnecting from the ac grid, open and close all doors and windows and vents, use shower, toilet, look under the camper for leaks - and let everything work for several minutes or hours - you get the picture). The next morning you give your list of everything you find wrong to the dealer and they can fix your TT on the spot, flush out your tanks (re-winterize if needed) and leave with a working TT. I did this and found just one bad interior light bulb and a leaking exterior shower water line connection that was replaced/fixed promptly. Other friends caught much more serious issues that were fixed before they left the lot.

Actually Princess Craft RV had tested everything out and showed us when we arrived to take possession. The furnace was working when we left Texas so that wire came off afterwards. It is frustrating but its hard to hold manufacturers accountable especially when demand is through the roof and supply is very short. It is sad that the RV industry has not set higher standards though.

My folks owned a $250k Tiffin 42 Allegro Bus it went back to Red Bay Alabama three times over the 5 years they owned it. The key is what service/support do you get after the sale. BTW the is/was statement is around the purchase of Tiffin by Thor a brand with a known history of quality issues....

Thank you Patrick! That was a long list of what was wrong with Tex. But I think just like you they were minor. Just itty bitty minor issues. They can be fixed by both manufacturer and the supplier. So glad you will be able to get them fixed. Having an Rv that needs to get fixed is the sane as when you go get your car worked on from something gone wrong. Same thing happens to Rvs. Thank you Patrick for this video. And tell Patty hello. Have a good week and see you at Midweek update. Stay safe.

I have owned several boats and Rv's. All had some sort of problems. My current 30 V-lite had problems but the company and the dealer were willing to work with me installing the parts without dragging it back to the dealer. My neighbor has a 40' diesel pusher and has had constant problems with it. Apparently it doesnt matter if it costs 30k or 230k, they all seem to have issues! And it all goes back to a lack of quality control, for the manufacturer and the supplier. We had a standing joke about Bayliner boats; the size determined how many screwdrivers came with the boat!

The wiring-related issues surprise me as Lance is one of the few companies that actually set-up their wiring like an auto maker. But there are a few things you mention that speak to high turnover at Lance and I wonder if they're experiencing this? Good video! I can't tell you how many time I've had to replace the screws in my own stove top which is the same model. You'd think Suburban would buy some Loctite.

I agree, pretty much miner issues besides the slide out problem. I did notice one issue that you had, the solar plug. I have a Geo Pro SRK12 very small trailer. The same plug, by the same supplier does not work either. I even had the same suitcase solar kit as this supplier but still did not work. I didn't bother to get it fixed because of the location of the plug. I noticed most times when I go camping and park, I'm in the shade. There is a roof mount solar panel on my little trailer that is pretty much directly above where the plug is. So what I did was use the direct connection plug to my battery, which is on the front of the trailer. It is connected to the battery and the Anderson connection it stored in the front during travel. I found that most times the sun is mostly out front of the trailer so the 30 foot solar cable I bought from the same solar supplier works best for me anyway. All new RV's have their issues, just need to work through them. Maybe some day RV manufacturers will adapt the automotive assembly line method, but I'm not holding my breath, lol. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Hey Patrick, thanks for sharing. I enjoy the information you provide. I took delivery of our Lance 1985 in January 2020. This was my first travel trailer and I'm pleased with my decision after all the research. We've had our stove recall fixed and it took less than an hour to complete. We just waited. The skylight over the main entrance had a crack on the outer side but it never leaked. The dealer found the one over the shower was also cracked when they were installing. We are waiting for the replacement to have that one fixed. The shower pole has a portion that would slide up and down and the rubber seals broke off and needed to be replaced. That's it. Very happy with our purchase. Thanks again and best regards!

The Lance 2075 has no slide outs and originally that is what we thought we wanted but that one slide just opens up the trailer so much so we went for that openness feeling. Hopefully we won't have any more issues with the slide. Our 5th wheel had 3 slides and we never had a single issue with those over the 8 years we owned it. You just never know.

When we bought a new Geo Pro 19fbs last fall the water pump wouldn't shut off by it self and go into stand by access, and our keyless access failed. After a 3 month repair job those were fixed. This spring when we unplug the trailer no lights or any 12 volt power in the trailer, although the battery cut off switch is in the on position. Also our tire monitoring system won't connect to the tires to get tire pressure. So our trailer has to go back to the RV dealer again, hopefully not for another 3 month visit.

Our first year of owning our tab 400 we had a few minor issues, nothing major. They were all fixed on warranty at the dealer, no problem. Our second year (last year) we had a bigger issue. Our Alde heater wouldn’t work on propane after several hours running. The fan kept trying to restart and we would eventually get a fan failure message. We ended up having to come home early from a camping trip in October because it got down to 18° at night and no heat was not fun. Jerome mucked around with the connections to the battery and the fuses after we got home and got it to work. And several tests over the winter in the driveway were successful But I don’t trust that it’s not going to happen again! We head out next Tuesday on a month-long camping trip down south and I’m hoping it’s fixed! As long as we have electricity we’ll be fine. It’s boondocking on propane that I’m worried about. Fingers crossed!

The screws for the stove cover screws can be ordered online. They’re pretty cheap. I’ve lost a few of them as well. If you check the serial number on that stove you may find it’s not on the recall list. Mine wasn’t. I have a 1995. I have 2 shades that need to be replace plus a window valance come loose. I like the cutting board idea for the stove. The glass cover is really poor quality and scratches easily. To make it truly four season it needs 12 volt tank heaters that you can turn on going down the road in cold weather.

Patty was hating the glass stove top because it showed finger prints and smudges so bad. I doubt we will put the glass cover back on although I have it for when we sell the Lance. The new owners may want to deal with it.

Solar panel connector❗️Not sure if the same issue occurs with the Lance but I have a trailer from Forrest river and they reverse the polarity on the solar plug so only their solar panel from (at 3x the price) will have the alteration built into their solar panels and anything bought elsewhere will not work. Simple solution Is a 12” polarity reversing plug (buy on Amazon) you plug into your cord first then into the solar panel port and do the trick.

My first travel trailer was a piece of ill conceived junk. One of our trips was interrupted by the water tank falling out on to the road. I didn’t actually know that happened but I wondered why my partner wasn’t following me. He stopped and collected it from the traffic and emptied it while I called to see where he was. It took my dealership two prime camping months to get a new tank. I traded it in on a new 2018 NuCamp 320 S. I had Zero issues with it but traded it for a used Winnie Minnie class C. When I couldn’t start the generator I decided to sell it because I didn’t really have the mechanical ability to use it and was afraid of the cost if it broke down on the trip I planned to go to Arizona. I just got paid for the Minnie and sold my Chevy Express tow vehicle. I just bought a new to me Subaru Forester. I’m back to being a tent camper. No more big machines. I realize that my expectations were perhaps unrealistic based on my abilities. Lessons learned. I still enjoy my “imaginary” friends on KZbin. Thanks. Don
