Yes - I used to have quite a few - most were mounted and went downhill after being potted.

I don't see D. Hibiki in our stores that often either, and when it is it's about quarter of your plant at best. It might not even get noticed standing next to all the showy phalaenopsis. May our days be more sunny.

I just received this orchid but the Pseudobulbs are quite rounded and small. I’m wondering if that’s because it’s a small young plant? I’ve been told to winter rest this? Thoughts? I wish I could post a picture

I have a Den. Nagomi which I believe has Habiki in it. What will you do with the keikis? Will you remove them or leave them where they are? Thanks!

Den. Nagomi = Den. cuthbertsonii X Den. bracteosum. On Hibiki, I will leave the keikis on.

Hi Roger, thank you very much for the great chat. I actually wanted to request a spotlight on Dendrobium nobile but finally decided not to bother you with the topic as I have very little choice regarding the conditions I can provide. Nevertheless, maybe just a question on a very narrow aspect: my one and only Den. nobile hybrid, which I now have to move indoors as night time temperatures approach freezing, has this year's canes covered in nubbins. The question is, where is the point of bifurcation between a nubbin developing into a flower spike vs developing into a keiki? From the very start (when a tiny protrusion appears, it is already determined what it will be)? At a later point in time? Thank you!

Love my Twinkles of which I have 12 which includes the mum and dad, sotoanum and cheirophorum, I have quite the little family going on! I will enjoy watching your Pink Profusion flowering in the northern hemisphere while mine are putting on new growths in the southern. 😀

There is very little research into this but I believe the cells involved have already chosen their path before they are even visible.
