The great winter shuffle. The orchid grower's dance. Had to use stakes on lopsided plants cause cold glass period is arriving and I just know I'd lose them if I don't do it now. Will not be using birdhouse but arches made of 3 flexible growths (eu aspen) and similar feeders you added to the side of yours. It's our 3rd year to use that method: we can tuck them away once the winter is over to use again next time and they fit well in the tools corner (as it's not lacking in hight). In a way bird feeders are like some live sculptures to give winter garden shapes to rest your eyes on.

Hey Roger! You should water your Pinguicula just like your Disa orchids! They will be much happier :)

Why don’t you put a couple of cymbidium on that end shelf you are planning on taking out, the disa’s on a shelf underneath and move some of the shady ones under the big cymbidium? That would give some more light, and you wouldn’t have to bend for your disas.

Hi Roger, great shuffling of your orchids. Cand you let us know how your cattleya are doing? And any tips on keeping them happy. Thank you.

My Cattleya types will never do that well now as I don't have the temps for them.

Hi Roger, nice sized plants for sure! When was the last time you divided any of them? I have this plan (more like 'fantasy') that I can grow up some of my more rare cattleyas, then divide them, pot them up and sell the divisions in local plant groups or on Facebook.

There are plenty of my videos where I've divided plants.

Hello Roger, can you go into more detail on the subject of recovering orchids in your sunday orchid chat? What do you have to consider to be successful? Thank you. Have a nice evening.

Roger...have you tried to take a cutting from your japanese maple? I have tried several times and it doesn't seem to be working for me...
