Many years ago, just when I was about to fest on a famous nasi lemak, I suddenly noticed all seated at same table are not eating.. Only then I realise they are all Muslims wait to buka puasa. I put down my utensils, but a kind gentleman told me " tak apa, you boleh makan, you tak puasa" I told him "tak apa, I boleh tunggu" we all seated quietly for another half an hour before we " break fast" together. That was probably one of the best buka puasa I have had with fellow Malaysians..

Great point on the pork, same goes to alcohol. Muslims don't drink alcohol, so when non-muslims sell and/or consume it, it's different but, it has 1000% nothing to do with the muslims at all. Muslims live their own life, and non-muslims live theirs based on their own lifestyle/belief. There's no need for muslims to interfere with others, likewise vice versa. Non-muslims never never interfere with muslim matters such as fasting start what time, when to end fast etc. Spot on, this is so basic as human being even.

Ferdowsi did it with the Persian language. The Farsi that Iranians speak now does not vary much from the Farsi written in the epic Shahnameh written by Ferdowsi almost a 1000 years ago. When the Arabs conquered Persia and have them converted to Islam, they brought also the Arabic language. But Ferdowsi upon commissioning of the project, insisted to minimize the use of Arabic words to preserve Farsi and consequently the Persian culture. I also watched one Iranian film that at school, when the kids first learn to read Farsi, they read the literature, the poems. Here in Malaysia we read sastera only in secondary school.

when he say melayu baru he meant polician today. The malay in general today is exactly what he meant the real melayu who want fair share of equity base on hard work and policy thinker to benefit future..not cash is king ike what politcian is doing..sikit2 tender/commision

True Malay: wants Equity is a fair share according to our capacity of work, wants their needs to be taken care of, want good edu system, understands their religion (shariah) as a way of life, ethical and moral conduct Malay Baru: wants Wealth, thinking shariah is limited to the law (hudud) corrupting things for their own benefits #Note

Education is the foundation to create values in society...but once it's broken, that leads to a disaster. As Dr mentioned there's no racism in Islam and am clueless what's been practiced here?

We captured some of the females as captives, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (whether it was permissible). He said, "It is better for you not to do so. No soul, (that which Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come, into existence." Sahih al-Bukhari 2542

I like your comment on dewan bahasa. So many Malay words I learnt in school is now redundant. But in fact those words depict the situation or condition better. English doesn't describe Asian situations quite so well.

It's been a highly educational session with Dr Syed Ali, Harith. It's pretty clear much ongoing precious time continues to be lost over politics, race, language, religion and culture in befuddling Malaysia. Much reworking is required to realign focus and direction in regenerating the country. A very tall order considering the entrenchment and embedment of what's already in place.
