It's so refreshing to hear Prof Tajuddin's bold and multi-faceted points of view. I share his insights on seeing the bigger picture and be critically aware of the hidden agendas of those playing up controversial issues for their vested interests. I always felt alone among my community when I don't share their overtly racist sentiments nor believe the narrative that Malays/muslims in Tanah Melayu (especially) are under threat by the non-muslims/non-malays. Just like Prof Tajuddin, I also believe that the conduct of our Prophet was far from racism but one which exuded love, understanding, humanity and compassion and which, we should all uphold in our behaviour regardless of faith. For we are all human after all and to be human is first, to be humane to each other. Thank you Prof Tajuddin and Harith Iskandar for this wonderfully insightful podcast. I used to feel alone for having a different worldview from many of my Malay/muslim relatives/friends/ communities but not anymore. Malaysia is a beautiful multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi -religious country. Unity in diversity is our strength. So, let's not let anyone with extreme worldview and with hidden 'selfish political' agenda manipulate and control us. We can do better and be better if we are open-minded and always seeking knowledge and the truth by reading widely and cross-referencing from various sources before forming an opinion or making a judgement, treat each other right, with love, compassion and respect and we will sustain the beauty of a harmonious Malaysia.

I’m very happy to get to know prof here. Never imagined that Harith & Prof discussion was really intriguing. I’m very pleased that the KZbin pop up this video to me as suggestion. Great contents & had learnt much from Prof. I have many Malay friends back then & now. But now I can feel intolerance in our society when we face issues of Religion nationwide in social media. I feel that I need to be more careful when approaching & friendly interaction with my fellow citizens if they are Malay, after reading extreme comments from social media. But in person, all the individuals especially Malays were still very friendly when approached where I lived in heavily Malays populated region in Selangor. What is been projecting in social media by those extreme post, statements & comments is still considerably not representing the whole nation’s real voice. We are still not rotten as a whole nation yet many still thinking rationally while living in our multicultural & multi religious nation. Hope politicians stop politicizing all fairly ignorable & forgivable issues into massive issues just to gain profit and to secure their personal interest. We must unite & stand as Malaysians to compete in international arena to shine but not to fight within our own fellow Malaysians and become vulnerable. Stay prudent.

@@lailatulkamilah1590 of course im aware of that. the problem is intelektual melayu hanya membisu seribu bahasa. tak ada yang berani bersuara lebih dari bangku universiti.

Alhamdulillah. Tqso much Harith for invinting prof tajuddin for sharing his thought about msian. Selama ni sy mmg follow Prof tajuddin, he is a rare malay muslim and has great wisdom. Sayangnya majoriti melayu tidak seperti beliau. Saya sendiri bukan lah melayu ttapi orang Asli yg memeluk agama islam.

It was a great discussion! I'm Malaysian Chinese, and I feel that Islam is a profound religion. However, it appears that in Malaysia, politicians often exploit the religion to boost their popularity, and our education system is unfortunately regressing. Despite these challenges, I believe Malaysia has the potential to become an economic powerhouse in Southeast Asia, similar to Saudi Arabia, if we stand united and embrace the modern world.

Education is key. The ability to know and think for yourself and not influenced by these politicians that sought to weaponised sensitive issues that would disrupt the harmony and peace of the country. I'm truly enlightened by your point of view. We really need more people like Prof.

In Arabic, the root word "k-f-r" has a broader meaning of covering, concealing, or hiding. When applied in Islamic terminology, "kafir" refers to someone who denies or conceals the truth of Islam. So, one could argue that it's used for those who reject or hide the teachings of the Quran, including Muslims who may do so.
@NZG1766 ай бұрын
Actually it means a farmer - someone who covers a seed.

Consider this, my friend : A father left many nice drinks in the fridge, told his son to serve to whoever comes to the house as a guest. One of the family friends came and the son did not serve him the drinks. When the father came back, he found out. The son, when questioned, answered thus: 1. The guest rejected the drinks., 2. He refused to serve the drinks because of many personal reasons. You cannot simply called someone KAFIR before you presented to him the truth. If you did that but he rejected, that too depends on what you presented to him. By your interpretation of KAFIR as concealing the truth, then before the nons are put to hell the Muslims who did not preach the truth would go in first. Wallahu A'lam.

@@HexxaLi-go8xz can a non muslim which do not know about the Quran hide the truth of the quran
@HexxaLi-go8xz6 ай бұрын
@@amyssb1 of course not. It's the duty of those who knows to preach what he knows. All prophets did that. The goal of Islam is to be a Muslim in this world, and in the hereafter it's entirely up to the Creator. But the Muslims now unashamedly called themselves Muslims before they even practiced the teachings. By analogy it's like calling oneself an engineer before he even started to study the courses let alone passing the exams, and with the new found identity he started to differentiate himself as the believer while labelling others as kafir. Let's put it this way, the Quran consists of six thousand odd ayat and it's existed almost one thousand four hundred years. It was meant for the so-called 'akhir zaman' and suitable even for the illiterate bedouins in the arabian desert. So the meanings might be deep but the teachings are meant to be general. For the religion it's entirely up to the devotees to show the meanings of the religion through their practices. Don't get me wrong, I am entirely agree with what you said but just want to put in some of my thoughts. Salaam.

@@HexxaLi-go8xz This verse emphasizes the responsibility of believers to promote righteousness and guide others towards the truth. 1. Surah Al-Imran (3:110): "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." 2. Surah An-Nahl (16:125): "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided." 3. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:256): "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing." 4. Surah Al-Mumtahanah (60:4): "There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, 'Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone.'" These verses, among others, emphasize the importance of conveying the message of Islam to others with wisdom, kindness, and patience, while also respecting their free will and choices. But there are verses that emphasize that ultimately, it is Allah who decides who will believe and who will not. One such verse is in Surah Al-Qasas (28:56): "Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided." This verse highlights that guidance ultimately comes from Allah, and humans, including the Prophet Muhammad, cannot control whom Allah guides to belief. While we can strive to convey the truth to disbelievers, it is ultimately Allah who decides who will be guided. Our duty to Allah is fulfilled by making the effort to convey the message, but the outcome of guidance rests solely with Him.
