I think Blu was feeling the cooler weather. Turkeys are not very smart and I am sure that turkey did not learn his lesson. Early Thanksgiving dinner I see coming. Hurk needs trained three commands, COME, STAY, and HEEL. He should already know these commands. He runs off cuz he thinks he can and have no fear from his owners. Have be firm with these one word commands. Having him fixed is not going to train him. Give him loving when he does what you want him to do . Maybe get a book on his breed to help you.

Maybe a trip to the vet could put some light on what's going on with Christina. They could x-ray her right leg and see if it might be a break or arthritis or etc. Have you given it some thought about maybe asking Grandpa Doss if he would want one of the male turkeys or maybe Chad would want one or both? Just trying to come up with some other way than processing them. Blue acted like she was having a lot of fun today. She didn't seem to butt anyone or be aggressive so I think she was acting like a person does when Spring comes around after a long winter. LOL

They can definitely fly over the fence. They can even roost in trees if they choose. My uncle used to raise 2500 meat turkeys at a time. Blue is enjoying the first burst of football weather...just as the first burst of spring each year. I am a softy and appreciate the special care you two dole out to all.❤

Saw an old short this morning from Grandpa Doss Farms when Mario and Luigi were staying with Batman, P-Dub, and Fox. Four boys were huddled under one arch shelter while Luigi was alone in the next one. Certainly show his character even when he was younger he was a quiet loner at times. I think he's grown more sociable since Mario's strong personality is gone. I like seeing him gaining confidence. Enjoy your critters! Best wishes from northern Illinois.

I loved the Nintendo pack of momma, lil Mario and Kuppa leading the birds down the hill. If you get cedar chips for the brooder it should help with the smell, it can also help with critters. Just thoughts for you. Please continue to keep us in the loop. God Bless

Why don’t you take a toilet paper roll, cut it in half, and wrap it with the stretch tape that we use on our wrists and ankles.. it will be strong enough to hold her up and she will be able to stand without falling.. Sandi Brock uses it on her sheeps when their feet are weak and they’re not able to walk on it.. if it can work for her it can work for you..poor Christina 😢❤❤❤
