@Bob no fear only read the math high and low forget the news they time the news to coincide with the techicals to make people think it's news driven it's not tune out the news listen to Debussy when you trade

jricherts99 😀 patterns are based on expectations dude. That’s why it seems “they” time the news.

Maybe you are not a day trader. Maybe you shall take swings. Provides much better RRR. Requires less action. Protects from decision fatigue as well. Suddenly you are out of the woods.

Great job Merritt. We talked 3 years ago for an hour on the phone and you really helped point me in the right direction and gave me confidence that I could do this. Proud to say this year i’ve finally become profitable (as long as I don’t completely blow it in the next month haha). Back then when we talked I thought I was turning the corner to profitability... and you were like ehhh pump the brakes.. lol you were right. 3 years later, and I know this time it’s actually legit. I’ve heard great things about that book, The Inner Game of Tennis. I’m going to give it a read.

The negative is always positive when you can learn from your mistakes or losses. I believe the best question to ask yourself is where did I go wrong or what did I do to have a loss? And what can I do to fix this? That's just me, good stuff Merritt.

Hi Merritt. I create scenarios every day for my Hang Seng Futures trading. I've read a lot about the "playbook" that Bella and all of SMB seem to tout as essential. When trading a single market, such as a futures product all day and creating these scenarios. I don't know how to playbook it because every day involves too many context variables that I cannot group them into discrete playbooks and backtest it. Your hypos look very similar to what I am doing. How can you playbook all these different hypos to know if one is in your A+ category or not? How can you even categorize all the different hypos, I can't see how to do it....

I always try to guage risk on or risk off sentiment in the premarket. There’s two markets opened and one’s running into the US open, the asian session and the London session I think it’s wise to see what they’ve been up too.

For funded traders, why is your profit share only 50/50 when all your other competition is 80/20 or 70/30?

Why does the largest institutional crude oil trader I know make way, way less than 50% of what he generates his firm? Would you prefer to make 50% of $1.8 million, or 80% of $32,500? Hopefully you get my point. Some make 15% of $20 million. There are different ways to approach this business; and one should not assume that SMB Futures desk is just like many other more retail "prop" shops out there.

@@ApterosTrading Great reply. Percentage only tells part of the story. Trading is fully scalable. If you can generate consistent returns access to capital is not a problem. People will be beating down your door to hand you money to trade. If you can generate consistent returns you don't NEED other people's money, just the patience and skill to slowly grow your own. If you can consistently generate returns you can dictate what percentage you receive. Hell, banks are practically giving out free money because of COVID-19. All you need to do is be able to show you can pay the interest consistently.

That used to happen to me cause I would buy running stocks with zero context. So gambling? Also I used to wait for too much confirmation and somewhat chase the play so when I finally got in the market would correct a bit and scare me out.

@@Leshic2 i appreciate the advice. I've been trading in and off for over ten years and have gotten real serious about it in the last two years. I still have many errors in my trading. Bad habits.
