What’s in a YO! SUSHI Magic Bag ?? Too Good To Go

In today's video I head into a Tesco to collect a Too Good To Go bag.
Not from Tesco itself, but from the Yo! Sushi outlet within the store. But sushi is supposed to be raw fish isn't it? Or is it?

Got my first Yo Sushi tgtg bag for my daughter. After waiting at the unmanned counter for 5-10 mins, Tesco called staff over the tannoy and a young lady soon arrived.Cheekily, I begged for something with Salmon and avocado as that's the only one my daughter will eat (but of a risk I know). Luckily, there were salmon maki snack sushi, salmon and avocado california rolls, beef massaman curry and cooked salted edamane beans, total value £17. Result: happy child, and I got to try the beans which were yummy and having the curry for, wait for it, breakfast! I'm trying to do low carb, so it makes sense to have carbs in the morning😊

Never been to Yo Sushi but I would have loved those items, so a winner in my book

I’ve only been once, up in London some time ago, they don’t have any branches that close to me. But these little concession stands in the supermarkets give a flavour of what they offer at least. And as you point out, tasty items received so all good!

Katsu and korean chicken sounds lovely. I dont eat fish, so this would be a win to me 😊 But if you expect sushi it may be sad.

It was actually very good. The Teenager had the katsu curry for dinner and was very happy with it!

I love a Katsu curry, sushi anything Japanese really, the culture, traditions etc are spectacular.

It is a fascinating place isn’t it, so different to anywhere else in its culture and traditions. I guess a lot of that comes from its self i posed isolation a dew hundred years back.

I'd be over the moon with that, i dont like sushi so thats what puts me off ordering on TGTG. Would be good if you could specify things you dont like on the app so they only include things you like, id rather not waste something i dont like be it sushi or a tuna crunch from greggs etc

Given the amount of money they make from these bags, I guess they want to keep the process as simple as possible. Hence the “you get what you get” situation. I do understand where you are coming from though, as either you avoid using an outlet, or risking chucking things you don’t like and creating food waste anyway.

They seem to be rolling out sushi places in a lot of the big supermarkets down here, Yo Sushi in Tesco, Sushi Gourmet in Sainsbury’s (more on that next week!) and one called Panko in Asda as well. Have to miss the game this weekend as Mrs Greeno planned a weekend away…. Think Villa will smash us up anyway!!

Not a fan of sushi, so would definitely give this a swerve. That said, if I knew that I'd be getting chicken katsu curry, and avoiding raw fish, then I could be persuaded.

Yeah, if you don’t like sushi it’s probably not worth the risk. This time I got katsu and some chicken bites, but it could just as easily have been a load of raw fish!

@@GreenoEats On my brother's stag do, the best man booked us into a sushi restaurant. It was him, me, ansd about twenty Royal Marines who were not best pleased.... By popular vote, we sacked it off and got burgers instead!!

@@timspencer3348 Sounds amazing. On my brother's stag do his best man arranged this virtual driving day thing. Sit in pretend F1 cars and drive on a computer game. Made sure we all went to the pub for about 3 hours first. It was carnage! Don't drink and drive 🤣
