So when you travel with this bag do you bring it as a Carry on? Or do you put it through luggage/baggage? Im really curious, Must be nerve racking if you dont bring it as a carry on...

What equipment do you use to set up your overhead camera? Is it on a tripod on a table or something?

I like this setup. I might have to grab this bag.

I have been using this backpack for about 7 months as my daily photo bag, so far no complaints from me. I looked at the Peak Design and chose the Airport Essentials over it. I do motorcycle-motorsports photography and I ride my motorcycle to a lot of those gigs and events. The PD seems you would have to be careful opening it so nothing would spill out, if you opened it the wrong way. but it does have some neat organizing sections on those side pockets. The lock was one of the features that made me buy it, only thing is you either lock the camera compartment or the computer compartment not both, I solved that by buying a extra TSA cable lock, to lock the other compartment and I keep it in the cable section. I lock the bag to my bike if I just need my cameras but I'm usually not far away anyhow. As for those asking about SD cards Think Tank Photo sells a pretty neat folding pouch-wallet thing called the pixel pocket rocket they make two versions one hold four CF and three SD cards and another that holds nine SD cards. so thats covered. They also sell battery pouches one hold that holds one battery and a memory card, one that holds two batteries and another that holds four, thats the one I got, I keep two batteries for my 7Dmkii and two for my SL2 in it. This bag holds a lot, with it I'm set for action photography, time lapses, portraits, stills, whatever comes my way. I too use the Rode Video Micro go, no batteries needed and it works great on the SL2 which I use for video, the SL2's battery seems to last longer than the one on my Sony a6000 which can't even take a plug in mic. I like your set up looks like for setup to cover anything you might need to take care of. I still like my DSLR's but I'm no stranger to mirrorless.

I have had this back for many years. When I shot with a DSLR it was great. When I switched to a Sony A7iii it became obvious this bag was too big for the camera body even with a lens attached.

Consider getting a Rode VideoMic Go + Deadcat. It's similar to the VideoMicro but it shakes less cause it's got a much better shockmount. It requires no batteries and is more directional than the VideoMicro.

That looks ideal as a carry on - not too heavy either at less than 1.7kg. I made the mistake of getting a solid carry on case but it’s so heavy I can’t get my essential gear in it without going over European airline weight limits. Doh! 😂

Wandrd Prvke 31L. Took it with me to Japan a couple weeks ago. Going through airport TSA was a breeze. I was able to fit my A6500, sigma 16mm, Zhiyun crane plus, mavic pro, power bank. On top of that I still had extra room for a couple more lenses.... or green tea KitKats.

Great video, I too am rocking the Peak Design 20L Ash backpack, but am looking for something about the same size as the Peak Design that holds more. I am not that tall, and the 30L Everyday Backpack is just a bit to big for me, so this Think Tank might be a good option.

Hey @Jason Vong My wife and I are getting ready to do some travel vlogging. If you only took three lenses cost not being a issue what ones would you take? We will be doing mostly vlogs, portraits, landscapes.

Personally, my current go to is the 16-35mm GM + 85mm 1.8. If weight wasn't an issue either, 16-35mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm GM

It looks like there’s a little gap between the top of the body and the bag. Does it rock around in the bag much? It’s really difficult to find a bag that fits mirrorless well.

how do you think about this as a travel backpack for walking in cities for long periods? I was looking at lowepro protactic but the new one is so expensive. This looks like a nice backpack for my fuji system when I want to bring the 50-140 around.

Thanks for publishing this video!! This answers my questions about traveling with cameras and lenses, but what do you use for traveling with Lights and Stands?? I have my first out of state wedding in 3 weeks and not sure what to get ( to hold for example, an AD600 Pro and 2-3 large Manfrotto stands)...

I bought A7R3 3 months ago. When the first time I tried to connect it to SmallHD, I found the mini HDMI port was broken. It couldn't output properly. I never used the port after I bought the camera. Sony asked me to send it for repair. I did and they fixed it. But the repair note shows they replaced the whole mainboard. Do you think it's normal and acceptable? At least, Sony customer service told me it's normal. Im thinking I bought a bad copy at the very beginning. Sad.

when your at the airport security area do they ask you to take out each item out of your bag or do they just let you lay it out all open and stuff?
@Mikeybikey886 жыл бұрын
Nice! Great lens selection. Mine is similar to yours in terms of focal length, currently using adapted Canon L lenses so they are heavy and bulky. What do you think of the weather sealing of Sony native lenses on A7III bodies? Coming from the 1DX and 5D3, I feel that Sony cameras have poor ergonomics and lack ruggedness. Other than that, I love the Sony system.
@JasonVong6 жыл бұрын
my a6500, a7riii, 55mm, 18-105mm all took some hard hits but they all survived. Some of my gear have been in the rain and no issues. Other than that, I haven't been in any really rough situations.

I had an evecase which was good concerning how you can store things. Bad thing is that the shoulder strap broke at the airport. I had about 12kg of Equipment in there and took it up at one strap to put it on my back and the stitches didn’t hold. How about this one? Is it solid?

Hi Jason. Do you know if this bag would fit into a Pelican 1510 hard case with the foam of the Pelican removed? Thanks!
@KenCheng6 жыл бұрын
too bad it doesn't open from the other side (or inside) of the bag instead, or as the term YOU would use "backdoor". I'm always paranoid about people unzipping and taking off with whatever they can grab in crowded environments. I'm sure you can put a lock on it, but then that's too much inconvenience

Take a look at Manfrotto Mover 50 and AW 500 from Lowepro. It was my doubt some time ago, went with the first one. Even the dual handle fits the bag but not in a clean way... and you have to spend a lot of time thinking about the configuration, but works.
