There is a reason airplanes are is cold, it’s because people tend to faint more easily while flying because of a medical condition known as hypoxia. It occurs when the body tissue doesn’t receive enough oxygen. High cabin pressure and warm temperatures can further this reaction. It’s fairly common in airline passengers. Since body temperatures vary, airlines will keep the temperature on the low side just to be safe.

1, Scottevest microfleece hoodie - game changer for being comfortable, getting around excess luggage fees, and being organised in your seat. 2, carryon bag goes in the locker opposite and across the aisle from you. You get to see what is happening with your luggage this way.

If you are seated at window( I like that seat too) remember the outside air at cruising altitude is -40 to -57 Celsius. Interior rows are a little warmer. Maybe get an extra pillow and blanket to put against outside wall.

Some good tips there One thing I was going to comment about again was not drinking the water in the plane, I got it from a forum but someone already beat me to it. My usual trick is to always have my normal jacket with me even if the weather is warm. It has many pockets for passport, pen, powerbank etc, so I don't need to get into my cabin bag during the flight. I can use it as an extra blanket (the blanket they give you is always too short), the warmth makes it easy to fall asleep. If sleeping forward on the tray then I can use the jacket as a pillow because the tray is actually quite low for a comfortable sleeping position.

I avoid the regular meal served on longer flights. Instead I pre order a fruit plate or a vegan meal. Even though I am not a vegan I find the lighter meal easy to digest and for me it reduces jet lag.

Best medication to take are those car sickness medication (Meclizine), it prevents upset stomach, nausea, dizziness and best of all it's side effect is drowsiness. It is slow acting so better time the time you take it well to give enough time that the medication's effect is already kicking in at your ascend but not before you go through the TSA line. I suggest 30mins to an hour prior to boarding and also don't take it for a short hour and a half to two hours flight. It will ensure you that you won't get flight sickness and sound sleep throughout your flight.

Hi Megan I'm from Australia and my mum and I flew to Las Vegas via lax on United airlines. We always take the last row seats a and c leaving the middle row vacant. On a trip going and returning we scored 2 rows of 3 to ourselves my mum moved in front of me going to lax made a poor man's buisness class seat. Coming back to Australia mum moved in the middle and no we never asked permission, I stayed in the back row which was our seats reclined took all the pillows and blankets nice and cosy we had bad turbulence I was out for 8 hrs on a 13hr flight the rocking put me to sleep.for some reason if you fly the right time no one likes the last row the airline stewards didn't say anything and mum moved before the doors were even closed. Megan thank you for your great videos I really enjoy them. 🇦🇺❤

Have a drink, take your sleeping pill if that is your Normal thing to do, put ear phones in with a good cd in your player, wrap your blanket around you with seat belt on top, use a horse shoe blow up pillow around your neck. It will keep your neck steady and not flop around, lean seat back, count to ten silently and you are off to dreamland. Most airlines that have assigned seats may not allow you to switch seats. I believe this is for safety reasons (and if there is a crash and they need to identify people). Some airlines, like Southwest, that doesn't have assigned seating, may allow this though. You may be able to ask if you can take a different seat that is free, and they may let you (they may need to document a seat change though if it's an assigned-seat arrangement). This is why I generally won't switch seats with people either. I know that some people like to say that someone should switch a seat if someonea sks especially if the other person is flying with family, but part of me says that that falls on the other person more so than the person who is being asked to switch seats since it means lack of planning on the other person's part. So unless there is a good reason, I generally don't switch (I don't usually get asked anyway, and the one time I did, it was on Southwest, which they don't assign seats anyway).

Reclining seats is not always goo. What about when you do it before the first meal, so the person behind you has to eat a meal trying to stop the drink sliding off the table. Very annoying. The further back you recline the seat, the more you'll annoy the person sitting behind you. I usually leave my seat upright out of respect for others
@Anonymous502
@Anonymous502 2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't be telling people to switch seats. Flight attendants are supposed to tell you to go back to your assigned seat. The seat that you switched to can have extra legroom for example, which you have not paid for, so you shouldn't be sitting there.

I have to admit that if I was the person behind you and you tied your scarf around the seat covering my movie screen, or it was hanging down in the way and kept me from using my tray table, I wouldn't be super happy with you. Also, reclining seats seems to be a hot topic of debate these days. I personally think reclining is acceptable. Some of us have back issues and need the seat reclined, and honestly my pain level and ability to walk off the airplane at the end of the flight trumps any perceived inconvenience to the person behind me. I think that if you're someone who thinks its rude to recline your seat out of "respect" for the person behind you, consider giving that same "respect" to the person in front of you who is reclining their seat. They might have a very good reason you know nothing about! And if you need more space, pay the upgrade fee...like I do often because I'm so tall and like more space in the event the person in front of me does want to recline their seat. Its not my place to tell them they can't. And it isn't yours either. We all pay for all the features of our seat, and we shouldn't be demoralized for using them.

Seriously, just change your seat after take-off? Not only is that extremely selfish, but it also makes the work of the flight attendance much more complicated, just because they must look after passengers who play musical cheers and that holds up the entire process on board. So, thank you very much for me having to wait for my service, because you have the great idea of wandering around and trying new seats… But mor important, if you just switch seats without asking for permission, you change the weight distribution of the plane! And that can have serious (!) consequences for the safety of the flight. In worst case it can lead to a plane being uncontrollable and crash! So no, it’s not a good idea to ask for forgiveness then ask for permission.
