this was really helpful I start school in October n I'm so nervous lol my school was so expensive 20,000 so the pressure is on I'm a freelance makeup artist but I wanted to get into hair your kit has alot of stuff n I guess my question is how hard are the test n state board and do u have any tips for a future Cosmetologist about school

I'm glad my video was helpful! Truthfully, Cosmo school was such a fun experience. If you're passionate about it, then even taking exams and doing homework won't seem so boring. I don't think school is hard at all. Hair show projects, homework and exams are actually not bad at all. I can't speak for other schools because each school is different. I think you'll do great, since I can tell by your comment you're really into hair and makeup. Good luck and let give me an update once you start school 😘❤️

+Brittany Yee they'll let you know during orientation.. make sure you buy your books right away.. I'll try my hardest to make a video on my Cosmo school experience, but I just got hired at a salon and I work 7 days a week, so I come home too exhausted to film :(

I attend a community college and I highly recommend going that route instead of spending $75,000-$90,000 at a Private school like Paul Mitchell, Toni and Guy, Aveeda etc. My entire schooling, including cosmo kit, extra supplies, health fee, parking fee, etc. ended up totaling up to around $6,000 for an entire year, which is not bad at all. P.s I saw your comment in my apt tour video, thank you for being so sweet to me. XOXO

+glambyingrid ok cool. I currently freelance but I'm self taught. I thought of going to school for aesthetics( I hope I spelled that right 🙈) but I thought it would be in my best interest to do cosmetology in the event I ever get a client who's looking for both. I'm in so cal so I considered Cerritos college but I hear they have a wait list. I'll look into more schools and you're welcome. I enjoy your content and I hope you continue to grow ☺️

If you're in Socal, come to my school. I go to Fullerton College. This is one of the top schools with an amazing cosmetology program. Our State Board exam passing rate as a school is 96-99% passing rate. Seriously, my teachers are so amazing and truly want students to pass. Cerritos is know to have an AMAZING aesthetics program. With a Cosmo license you can do facials and waxing, but there are a few things an aesthetician can do that you cannot do with just a Cosmo license(like permanent makeup). I highly recommend you get your Cosmo license and after you graduate you only need a few hundred hours to complete the esthetician program. Hope this helps :)

+glambyingrid it helped tremendously. I will look into Fullerton. I'm currently taking classes at cypress college so maybe after this semester I'll be able to see if I can work that into my work schedule.

I highly suggest if you're going to get your Cosmo license at Fullerton, just go fulltime. But that means you're going to be too busy to take other classes. This isn't something you can just squeeze into your schedule. It takes one entire year if you're going fulltime Mon-Fri 7am-4:30pm, and it takes 2 years if you're part time. and part time is ONLY night class 4:30-10pm..but choose whatever works for you.
