Do you need adhesive and a bonder/sealant ??

Well without adhesive there's no way you can stick the lashes so that's very important. And not sure if you've seen any of me tutorials but I talk about the importance of a sealer/bonder and what it does with your retention. You don't need it if you don't want to spend money on it but when it comes to retention it's a must for me. It helps cure "dry" the adhesive 100% meaning they can get them wet right away and they become low maintenance plus it'll help avoid irritations from the fumes of the glue. So paired with the right glue it does wonders for your retention.
