I'm going to go through my performance bag from Love's Labour's Lost: The Musical and I'm going to show you guys what I would bring to the theatre during the run. What’s in my performance bag? Well strap in kiddos, because I’m the mom friend. Character shoes, jazz shoes, band-aids, bobby pins, ALL of my makeup, all of my brushes, makeup remover, portable charger, glasses & case, lotion & perfume (both in hello beautiful by bath and body works), safety pins, scrunchies, scissors, gum, script, nail file, wallet, extra pads/tampons. That’s all I can list off of the top of my head, but yeah. That’s what happens when you do a show with kids I guess.

I know you didn't ask me but let me help you out Honestly it depends on the show and what exactly your role is. If I'm in a show that doesn't have elaborate choreography I honestly just wear a pad but if I'm doing a show that has a lot of movement I would just go with a menstrual disc or diva cup if that's what you have As long as you change right before the show and make sure everything secure you should be good Hope I helped the theatre gods know I could have used this advice a year ago

Btw do you know that theory that the Witch’s mother is also Cinderella’s mother and that’s why Cindy can talk to the birds? There’s like a bunch more layers and I don’t know if everybody already knows it but it blows my mind the way that it lines up with all of the deep analysis of the show. My performance bag has: Ankle supports, one light one and one extremely heavy duty one (I had an incident with a lot of vodka and a bunny hole and my right ankle hasn't been the same since) Gum (because who wants stinky breath on stage) A little pot to put all my piercings in Glasses and glasses case Contact lenses and contact lens solution Jazz shoes (because all the other girls are in heels or boots but my character is a clown so hahahaha sucks to be them) Deodorant Socks. I bring my glasses, my phone, pens/pencils/highlighters, breath strips, chap stick, money, Starbucks card, my script(s), notebook, planner, extra little stage makeup just in case, socks, ear buds, and of course I show up with my iced coffee and a water bottle! :)

Hi Katherine! I just moved, and there are three things I was extremely sad to leave. Those three things were my friends and family, my house, and my theater program. I just started eighth grade, which means that I should have been able to do more shows at my school, but instead I’ve been watching from the sidelines while all of my friends have been auditioning. Call backs were today for James and the Giant Peach Junior, and I’ve just been listening to the music and internally sobbing. I might fly back to see it in November, but I just really wish I was there. My theater program also goes to the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta every January, and I didn’t know it was my last JTF when I went last year, and it’s tearing me apart. My local community theater is doing Once on this Island in February and March, but it’s 7-12th grade, so I’m going to be one of the youngest people there. I’m just really nervous and really sad. I know this is a random rant, but I needed to let it out, and I just figured that another thespian would understand. Thank you so much for reading this if you do, and I love you so much. You just seem so genuinely happy and kind and I love that about you. Your Instagram and Theater Thursday videos make me feel happy, and I truly appreciate that. I live you so much ❤️

My performance...uh...backpack has deodorant, and body spray because let's be real, it gets really hot on stage sometimes and we can get really smelly.. (shout out to The Beast for forever raising my body temperature 10 degrees) phone charger, some snacks (normally raisins and cashews) a hair brush, various hair ties, a change of clothes because I usually dress nice showing up to a performance and look like a hobo leaving.

Because I did theatre at my school, the closest thing to a performance bag was the cheaply made drawstring bags I carried my stuff in. We also took busses to my town's high school (where I'm currently enrolled and about to start senior year), which meant carrying backpacks in addition to the bags we used for performances and rehearsals.
