The way you filmed it makes your finger look as big as the 1176s and its hilarious. Thanks for the video, love seeing folks rep audioscape gear, I really think it is undervalued.

Just wondering.... Have you used Avalon compressors? Like the 737 or 747? And what about Lexicon effects for out of the box processing? Thanks...
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
I have not used any Avalon compressors. For outboard effects, I have an Audioscape Reverb, AMS Neve Reverb, and two Line 6 echo pro delay units. You'll see these in my rack update video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaGcZYWfm8mBars

Audioscape gear is truly wonderful, and it's awesome that they're working with you like this. Anything to help spread the word on their gear because the hype is real. Also, I think the Satechi M1 Mac Mini hub would fit nicely in that rack under your Mini! Then you could get some sort of stand to hold those external drives vertically to the right of the Mini in a more organized fashion. That's the IT nerd in me coming out, sorry!
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
Great point on the Satechi! I dont think I have seen any sort of vertical stand for the small SSD drive. I am currently using an OWC thunderbolt extension dock

Have you ever explored the Equi=Tech Balanced Power Conditioners? I would be interested to see if you notice a difference with your analog gear. I originally found them to eliminate buzz him click and pop and they worked great for me
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
I have not. Been using the Furmans for years and they have never failed me
@RichShumaker2 жыл бұрын
@@MixingMusicAnalog totally understand. They are not competing products they compliment each other. The Equi=Tech changes the power in a way that makes analog gear better. I am not trying to sell anything I just know that most people hear power conditioner and say "I got that". I would highly recommend trying it out someday on two identical racks. Honestly guitarist notice the change the fastest. Since I am "some random internet dude" I would recommend looking up the Roger Nichols article he wrote about Equi=Tech. It's a good read even if it is an old article. Also he is much more gooder with the 'splaining than I am. Thanks so much for the reply I really appreciate it

Awesome look at your racks. Thanks. Did you have to buy new cables from the SSL to the rack. Last time I remember your multi snakes were just long enough to get to the rack which was directly next to the console. Maybe you just bought db25 extensions. Also not being familiar with it but does your desk have a button to make the insert Pre or Post EQ for your SSL compressors that are normalled to the desk? I imagine it does :)
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
Yes, many new cables had to be purchase .Yes, the Origin has a pre/post insert on every channel.

Could you shoot out the lindell 50 vs the 5500? I keep trying to do that through access analog but looks like the 5500 is offline this month and I can never get it. I want to know if it is worth my while investing in 2 550b's or saving for the 5500....or just sticking with the plugs! Thanks.
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
I have compared the 5500 HW to the Waves API EQ plugins and there is no comparison.The 550 has a tight and focused sound that I could not duplicate with a plugin. I have not tried different plugins yet but maybe at one point I will. I would tell you to purchase the 5500 from Sweetwater and if you don't like it you can always send it back.

Hey Dave, Thanks for all you do! Considering either the Wes Audio Compressors or other analog gear like your ssl compressors. The digital control is tempting, but sound quality is paramount. Does the Wes Audio Gear sound as good? Noticed you didn't keep your FET Wes Audio compressors ; ). This made me curious. Again, thanks for all you do. Need to buy some of those courses of yours or pay you for lessons.
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
The Wes Audio stuff is great and sounds fantastic. Like I tell everyone, buy it from a place where you can return it if you don't like a piece of gear for some reason. I recommend Sweetwater, fo sure. Here is my link for them if you ever decide to purchase from them! Thanks in advance imp.i114863.net/c/2224454/792013/11319

Great video brother! I have a very important question and hope you can answer it. I have an Apollo Twin x and just bought a 500 series chassis with a pair of Neve 542s and an SSL Ultraviolet EQ to be used specifically on my mix bus. A friend of mine recommended not to insert the 542s into the SSL and connect them independently instead. Since I only have 2 I/O what would be the best way to make my hardware work properly and/or I need a new interface. Cheers
@MixingMusicAnalog2 жыл бұрын
If you only have 2 I/O then you need to connect them together. There is no advantage to hooking them up independent when you only have 1 pair of I/O
