How much cream do you use for your full body when it's wet?
@ummesalmatahir6745
@ummesalmatahir6745 5 жыл бұрын
@@ecardon I think you'll find that it's a lot less than how much you would use on dry skin, compared to wet skin. The slip of the water spreads the lotion or moisturiser easier and so, not much product is needed. So not only is it a great technique for your skin because of the rate of absorption, it's cost-effective and long-lasting too.

My dentist say that regular toothbrushes are just as good aswell, AND he also recommends the Sensodyne toothpaste. And he always stresses the importance of not brushing straight after eating and sleeping, and make sure that if you use rinse/ mouth wash it has to be the kind without alcohol, and it has to have fluoride in it. Never rinse with water because then you rinse the fluoride from your toothpaste out, and that's a big component in what helps protect your teeth. And floss before you brush, or in the middle of your brushing so you get in between your teeth better with the toothbrush and paste. Been following those advices my whole life, and now I'm 32, my sister is 25 and we've never had cavities or anything orally wrong, knock on wood!! Oh and not store toothbrushes out in the open in the bathroom, especially not near the toilet, and change out the brushes every time you've been sick. I'm into oral hygiene, if you couldn't tell, lol. If you've got oral issues and pain, then it just overshadows everything.

I find this interesting because I was recommended one of those electronic toothbrushes from my dentist. I got it and I actually love it. It could be because I love going to the dentist and getting cleanings, so it could be possible it was recommended to me because the electronic brush when done right gives a similar feel to what i get after leaving the dentist.

PinkPromises You need to learn floride is a neurotoxin and is really bad for you’re over all health your dentist has to promote fluoridated products as he sells and gets samples for free full of them Fluoride is a pure toxin.. flossing and using your own clay based tooth product is much better and oil pulling with coconut oil is super for your teeth and mouth microbiome. I’ve not used toothpaste since the late 90s, I’ve made my own with activated charcoal baking soda and coconut oil and a drops of peppermint essential oil and my own mouth wash.I’ve got all my teeth and never a tooth cavity that I couldn’t heal myself within a mount or two I only go to the dentist for s yearly checkup and he says keep doing what your doing you have one of the strongest teeth I’ve ever seen are his words and I’m 46 year old mouth wash and toxic paste as I like to call it kills all the bacteria in your mouth which you don’t want we need bacteria of the good kind. I hope it’s still working for u but for most they get sick In The long term As most get fluoridated water in there tap when they wash and in there tooth paste it’s a fall out from the aluminium waste products and they just sold it to the government who put a few scientists on board to sell it to the public at a cost to make you sick in the long run.. look up the research it’s there if you look not on government website but others..

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and learned that dry brushing can help externally stimulate the Lymphatic system. This is your body's germ filter. There are hundreds of lymph nodes in the body, I believe in going the extra mile and helping by dry brushing. This also helps exfoliate and remove dry/dead skin, promoting new skin cell formation. I have used this technique with clients and they comment on how the sensation of the dry brush ( I actually use exfoliating gloves because I feel they are easier to access all bends, folds, crevices of the body ) provides a calming sensation. I advise clients not to use too much pressure, use gentle strokes always upward toward the heart to promote circulation. I have personally dry brushed before every morning shower for over a year my skin's health has greatly improved! My skin is much softer and I feel thoroughly clean after dry brushing. I say do what is healthiest for you! 😁

Since finding your channel I am on a days-long binge!! You are a fountain of information and I love it! Actually confirming quite a few things I already do that help my skin feel at it’s best. My favorite shampoo & conditioner are L’Oréal’s Elvive Total Repair 5, I dye my hair and heat style it so I need something that’s going to help combat a bit of the damage I do. I do use bar soap but only Dove, I love that it doesn’t leave me with that squeaky clean feel that doesn’t feel right, it’s just not how skin is meant to feel. But I don’t deal with any eczema so bar soap doesn’t bother my skin like the way it does yours. I do not leave razors in the shower because I feel like they’re just doing to develop mold from the constant humidity, I just take a fresh one out of the package each time I shave. Same for washcloths, clean one each time, I don’t want to just rub bacteria and mold all over my body... But I also use conditioner as a shave cream, I don’t like how drying shave cream is to my skin, it’s again that squeaky clean feel that just feels like it’s striped my skin of everything. I find conditioner helps the razor glide better and then after rinsing it leaves my skin somewhat hydrated, win-win! Eucerin is my absolute favorite body lotion too, it feels like a drink of water to my skin!

Great job on the oral hygiene care, just don't use your mouthwash daily, disrupts the flora balance and don't use it within half hour of brushing. SLS in the toothpaste will otherwise inactivate the active ingredient in the mouthwash. More so if it's a chlorhexidine m/w.

Yes, that's how I feel. I have to clean the crotch area & the benzoyl peroxide wash would burn like mad, even a mild soap does. For years I've used Johnsons baby wash down there because it's so mild but recently I switched to using Dr Bronner's unscented baby formula. No SLS & no perfumes or dyes make it a better option. However, it's highly concentrated & so I repurpose an old foaming pump bottle, dilute the Dr B with distilled water, I also add a couple of other mild ingredients from a recipe I found online for a diy feminine wash but they're not really necessary. It could also be used as a all over body wash or even handsoap. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Clarification: when I stated 3/4 of a bottle distilled water & 1/8 -1/4 bottle Dr B, I meant the dispenser bottle, NOT the bottles the water & soap actually come in. I reread it & was afraid that sounded confusing. So, fill dispenser 3/4 full & then add a little Dr B but be careful not to overfill because the foaming dispensers have a big foaming contraption at the top that takes up a lot of space.

His team actually did experiments. He said we should NOT keep our toothbrushes on the bathroom counter top! They get over-spray from the toilet. Uck! So refreshingly minimalist, love it! I'm so bad with that because I enjoy the fun of trying new products, and once you've entered the world of Asian beauty, it's particularly difficult to cut back. However, it would take several lifetimes to try all of the products out there, and my attempt to try everything is an unnecessary source of stress. It's best just to stick to the basics and what works for me, only changing products when they STOP working. P.S. I can't believe I listened to the advice to use a dry skin brush for keratosis pilaris. Thankfully, I was too lazy to use it regularly, but it still makes for a nice decorative piece on my shelf. Amlactin daily body lotion 12% lactic acid works much better ;)

Stylists have no reason to freak out with the Vo5, even though they will! I have regularly highlighted hair and I use Pantene and L'oreal. My hair feels best with a clear (color/texture) sulfate based shampoo and a really slippery conditioner. I've never experienced faster/greater color fading with sulfate vs. sulfate free shampoo. It's wetting the hair with water and the use of any kind of surfactant (sulfate or not) that causes fading which is why I try to shampoo my hair every couple of days. Dry shampoo in between definitely helps. Sun exposure causes fading too. By the way, I know you like t shirts to dry your hair, but the Aquis hair towel is great. It reduces drying time, which is convenient but it also reduces the potential for damage by reducing hydral swelling of the hair shaft. There's also less friction on the hair shaft, so there's less damage there.

@SomeGirlMel - someone how has done their research! You are right about the water and I even read a study that also showed no increase in color fading with sulfate free shampoos. I have a stylist who is older (i.e. experienced) and doesn't work for a salon where she needs to push products, and she uses store brand shampoos and conditioners, a couple from the Suave line. Kind of like Dr Dray explains with her lotions and washes.. if you understand the ingredients, the cheap products are basically the same thing, and most added products in pricier brands do nothing for you. My hair needs conditioner, though!

So, I’d like to tough on this. When I used dirt cheap shampoo and conditioner, my hair was at its thickest and healthy. I lost so much hair using more expensive products it’s unreal. We really are brainwashed. She knows the science behind these products. So the fact we believe all of these gurus with tons of money who push anything from slightly expensive to more expensive is ridiculous and at the cost of our hair and skin. Now, this actually doesn’t go without saying not everyone can tolerate it. And that’s normally because of a reaction to a certain ingredient is all. (Not everyone can afford to go to the doctor to get tested for what) so what needs up happening is people have reactions and think it’s the brand when it’s not. I’m def gonna go back to my herbal essences and such now.

@@buckybarnes1218 I have been a stylist for 20+ years and I will tell you I have been lied to MANY times by distributors. I am also very frugal so if I’m going to sell somebody a $32 bottle of shampoo it better work miracles. I have yet to see that shampoo. Conditioner is a different story but I have used L’Oreal products that I thought were really good. FYI, L’Oreal makes the most expensive hair products I have ever sold under the name of “Kerastase”. That stuff is legitimately amazing but if you don’t want to spend crazy money on that stuff it’s really not necessary. You would not see it in my shower unless it was given to me for free. If you don’t even color your hair then I would not worry about any of this.

What a coincidence, those are the two exact same shampoos in my shower too! I bought the VO5 because it was so cheap and I picked up the L'Oreal one because I had a coupon. :) Yes, please recycle those disposable shavers (I do), every little bit helps! I have gotten into goat milk soap in a big way and use it, head to toe. The only ingredients in the unscented version is fresh goat milk, coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil and lye (which is what makes it soap). I use a version that has oats and honey in it on my face. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend trying one. Just make sure the goat milk is the first ingredient. It makes my skin SO soft and never dry feeling after washing with it. I've even used it to wash my hair and it turns out very soft as well and not stripped. Bend Soap and Goat Milk Stuff are two sites I purchase from. LOVE goat milk soap! :)

Thanks to corporate influence, I am having a hard time taking in the idea of not using soap on body. There is no dermatological need to use soap on genital regions?? Just water ? Water alone will help get rid of sweaty smelly body parts ? I do believe the mixture of fragrant useless body care products mixed in with normal body flora may produce unwanted odors due to pH imbalance etc So my question is, if we don't need to be using soap based products on body, are all the "nice -smelling unnecessary products" causing these unpleasant body odors ?
@DrDrayzday
@DrDrayzday 7 жыл бұрын
Not really. If sweat is left on the skin then bacteria break it down and it has an odor. Bacteria normally live on the skin. Not sure about how fragrance alters body sweat. Soap in the groin area is fine, and helpful for some people....this is just what i do, however.

Since it started, my body has been producing more moisture in that region, I began to really have acne for the first time (while also becoming dry as a desert & sensitive to everything), & my hair has become wire/course while frantically trying to produce a fu-man-chu moustache and goat beard. No one warned me about any of this. Your videos are helping me put the clues together. Thank you 🙏🏻.

I don’t use any shampoo that contains sulfates. After I shower and basically pat my hair to the point that it’s damp, I then spritz “It’s a 10” leave in conditioner on my hair. It’s very thick and coarse and the gray hairs even more so, which is why I have it colored. The leave in spray seems to have lots of ingredients my hair likes, so I can skip a day or two of washing my hair. I’ve seen or heard of using a t shirt for the hair and face actually, so thank you for the reminder! I never rub my hair with a towel though, ever. This was a very interesting video. No body wash.......hmmm. I used to apply moisturizer on damp skin and don’t know why I stopped? Thank you for that reminder too because my skin is SO dry! Bright blessings to you sweet soul! 🙏🏻💗

I've struggled with staph boils on my skin for the majority of my life - I'm finally understanding that it also relates to extra heat trapped in my body. I lived in Texas for the most of my life, which you can easily understand how I'd stay overheated and sweaty there since it's extreme temps, I now live in a temperate rainforest (Asheville NC) and being able to get in cold waterfalls all summer long definitely helped to keep my infections at bay! When infections came up I used Hibiclens and light use of African Black Soap (from Nubian Heritage) A few camping trips at the end of the summer didn't go too well for me since I couldn't clean easily, but once I was back on my cleaning routine the bumps went away. I'm getting back into my yoga practice lately and it's about to be Spring/Summer so now I will definitely be trying this PanOxyl! Thank you for explaining out how it helps, and how it doesn't get resistant. Sounds perfect.

Just purchased all of your CeraVe favorites, Norwegian hand cream (had tried that before and liked it), grabbed that Kerasal foot cream, and ordered the Hada Labo and Neutrogena Anti Wrinkle retinol. Ha. I started applying lotion as you describe (while wet). Definitely different. I dont like waiting so long to dry off. But, I like that the water on your body helps the cream/lotion to be applied much easier. With that being said, isnt the product being heavily diluted? Also, (and maybe this is silly to ask; but Im not sure what to do) how do you know how much to put on? Due to the water, I cant tell if Im putting on too little. ..or too much. ..Even on the face. I hope Im not bogging you with questions. Im sure you get it constantly. There really should be more guides on how to apply and how much. Theres a million different companies wanting you to buy their products though. The other thing was, yesterday after putting on the moisturizers while wet, I had to start throwing on clothes before I was completely dry/soaked in; cause I had to leave. If theres times like this, is it better to dry off and put your moisturizers on or apply when wet and put your clothes on before completely dry? Thanks for your time.

@@isabellapiceno3349 nexxus is my personal favorite. It isn't perfect but it works best with my hair type and with what my scalp can tolerate. Aveeno pure renewl is a good one that's less pricey. Ouai is also good! Sodium lauryl sulfate, fragrance, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Phenoxyethanol, Polysorbates and potassium sorbates are some ingredients that are pretty toxic to the hair. Argan oil is one of the better products to use for conditioner too, esp deep conditioner. Just stay away from Pantenes, v05, herbal essences. The thing about the pricery shampoos is that they cost more, but you're supposed to use way less of it. Focus on the roots and scalp but it doesn't need to be so lathered that it gets all soapy and bubbly. Shampoos can dry the ends out too so that's why focusing on the roots is best. A lot of people wash their hair too often or they use dry shampoos which is one of the worst things to do. But long story short, nexxus is my favourite, but our scalps and hair might be different. Loving your skin care but it’s sounds like you need a new dentist ! I am a dental hygienist and the dental advise you have been giving is incorrect. If you don’t have sensitive teeth you don’t need to spend the extra money on toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Fluoride is what is giving you the cavity protection and the percentage of fluoride in a regular cheep toothpaste such aim (which is one of the cheapest) is the same as the toothpaste for sensitive teeth, giving equal cavity protection. A toothpaste that give extra cavity protection is prescribed by the dentist ( such as Precedent). Electric toothbrushes are FAR better then a regular toothbrush not only for plaque removal but also for prevention of recession of the gums . 🙂

Hi! I love watching your videos, I have learned so much and thanks for debunking so many myths. Lately I've been wondering about stabilized vitamin C, what's the deal with that?

Dr Dray, thank you for this video. I was hoping you would do one of this sort. What is your opinion on mineral oil/baby oil as an in shower or right after, fairly effective from the chest down moisturizer for an adult(me)? Love and Light 💖Carli

In another video she states that oils just basically stay on top of the skin but they dont hydrate the skin so she really does not reccomend them. I wish I could remember which vid but idk cause I have been watching her for a while sorry.

This entire time I’ve been lathering up my entire body with soap 😔 no wonder everyone else takes 10 minute showers and mine lasts 30 🤣

Hey doc, love the videos, have you tried safety razors? It takes a bit of research to find the right blades for your skin/hair thickness, but once you have one the blades are so ridiculously cheap and they last so long. Then after you're done with a blade it's only a tiny piece of metal to recycle and what not.

The shampoo you have is the one my dad uses. He didn't know we had sample size shampoos or little bottles so he always brings the big bottle to the gym with him. ^^

Wonderful video as always! I love watching your videos, very informative and has helped me make smarter choices when it comes to taking care of my skin. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the new La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser, would be good to use for dry acne prone skin? I am interested since it uses ceramics and Niacinamide
