Hey Colt. I am a professional Audio Engineer and a Guitar Player and a Music Producer ( hobbyist ) based in India. And I dig your setup mate. I mean it's spacious yet everything is within a hand's reach. I wish someday I can build me a Studio like yours. P.S.- I don't care about the KZbin stuff (lollllll) but have been following you for over a year now and have learned so much from you. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experiences with us mate. Cheers !!

So you track vocals through the Tube-Tech and compress the vocals in the mix with the 1176? Have you thought about changing the tubes in the Manley Reference Mic? I’m thinking about getting that mic and changing the tubes.

Question: why did you opt for 1/4 “ trs patchbays as opposed to TT? Love the desk wish it was out back when.
@ColtCapperrune3 жыл бұрын
Good question! In the beginning it was because it was a much more affordable option, and then when it was time to add a second patchbay I was already invested in the TRS thing, so it was a cost of like $500 to expand, or like $5000 to expand/switch to TT so I just stayed TRS. Hope that helps!

I have to take a drink every time you say “absolutely” and now I’m wasted by 9AM
Cool tour! I'm curious why you feel the need for a cloudlifter for your 7b? I've actually never had the need to lend any aid to the mic amps I have for the 7b, like ever? My faves for this mic are Daking, 312a, API, CAPI as well as my Forrsell, which I barely have to have past 1 o clock and I can print -12db for a narration vocal and it might be my fave for this mic. For screamers/loud vocals, there's more headroom than I need on any mic amp I have or have used in other rooms. Anyways just curious as I constantly read about people complaining about the low output of the 7b but wonder if they're trying to print @ 0dBFS lol Anyways, it feels like I'm missing something :) Love the guitar rig. Looks awesome!
@ColtCapperrune3 жыл бұрын
So the cloud lifter thing mainly just improves signal to noise ratio. By the time you have most microphone preamp‘s turned up loud enough for the SM 7B, they just have some hits and hum to them. The 7UP runs on phantom power, and boosts the signal so you can keep your preamp turned down lower, which keeps the noise lower. Hope that helps!

@Colt Capperrune First of all I wish you happy new year , to you and your familly! All the best! I love your api eq/compressors 500 what you using for kick, snare, bass and vocals, I hope I'll have them one day too. Do you use them for tracking or mixing (or both)? Second question what you didn't say in video is: what 50o racks (brand) do you using? And last but not least...your gears and whole studio looks so clean and shine, beautiful...I really have problems with dust in my studio..so my question is, what you using and how you clean dust from your gears in studio? Maybe video about that would be also helpful to your followers like me. :) Thank you in advance for answers.

@@ColtCapperrune i switched from Sony a6400 to A7c and I'm curious how the 10 bit difference feels and inbody stabilization conpared to apsc which I believe you used since the beggining of the channel? Good job mate!
@ColtCapperrune3 жыл бұрын
So this is just the first video I’ve shot with it, but the difference is staggering. This has the active stabilization in it in addition to IBIS. I would have never even been able to make this video with the 6400. The 10 bit 4:2:2 feels incredible, and miles ahead of the 6400. This also has much improved auto focus over the 6400. 6400 is awesome for the price, But this is certainly better in every way, and well worth the money if you are a serious content creator
