Great insightful videos Henry. Unless I missed it, I didn't see a whistle, mini flare pack and a mirror? These used to be part of the minimal safety gear required? Appreciate you are well prepared having mobiles, EPIRB and VHF etc.

@@henrycartwright3673 Hi Henry, I carry a whistle which is attached to elastic which is fastened & wrapped to my harness. I also have a length of rope neatly wrapped around my spreader bar. This is there all the time for bay sailing. Nothing planned but will do at some long distance sailing at some stage. Living in Guernsey has its challenges with regards to tides etc. Some of the local windsurfers have sailed around the island (25-30NM) and many have ventured to the out lying islands of Herm and Jethou and further. I am focusing on getting foiling cracked at the moment!

Very impressed with the whole gadgetry of telecoms 👀 - how did you work out what you needed exactly (gotta make check list for myself in compliance with my local requirements but curious to learn how you went about finding out in the first place!?). Great vid otherwise - exactly the sort of thing I need for inspiration with me just getting started with the touring discipline. Impressed with how much stuff you are able to fit in that 30L bag, but wondering what the weight of it all is ? - does that not get uncomfortable on longer stretches? Also, I notice you do not use a camelback or similar bladder-system(?) for drinking water on the go - is that a weight-driven choice (given your existing back-pack strategy), or?
