I’ve rarely seen a mainstream celebrity more decent, kind, humble and down-to-earth about what they value and who they value. West Side Story proves her brilliance as an actor from the get-go, and honestly all the things said about Rachel in the insane video essays that whine about her being the worst woke thing to happen to Hollywood, are bullshit, her ‘controversial’ moments are so harmless and innocent. What so she didn’t like a movie with outdated ideas from 1937? Rachel is literally so dear and I love how real she keeps it at all times. her first ever movie being Stephen Spielberg's West Side Story just shows how brilliant of an actress she is and I always pray her career will just continue rising. I've watched every movie of her's (even Shazam! Fury Of Gods just to see her 😭) and she never fails to deliver her all on screen. plus Brandy from the 1997 live remake of Cinderella just co signed her support for Rachel as Snow White, so I'm not too worried about her in that movie, plus the cartoon version is still around if I'm ever nostalgic for it. I'm very sad I couldn't see her on Broadway as Juliet from Romeo+Juliet though, but from the audience's feedback I've been seeing online, she is still eating up the stage as always!! I feel as if she has changed dramatically since the press tour for Snow White. I think she is an amazing actress and I think that she has possibly turned it around. Many things about the movie that she said would be taken out have been added back in. For example, the dwarves, the love interest, and the original story. I wasn’t sure if they added back the love interest until i watched this when she said Andrew burnapp plays the “romantic lead”. I was originally VERY on the fence about the Snow White remake but now I think it has potential. Unfortunately all of my family members and friends hate Disney or aren’t big movie people so I will be waiting for a Disney plus release😭 I agree that Disney/pixar weren’t doing very well with projects such as turning red, lightyear, the acolyte, wish and others. I agree that all of these movies and shows were down right awful and not good at all for little kids considering they talk about lgbtq and puberty very often as well as a lgbtq kiss in lightyear. Do I think that was at all the right move? No. Do i think that disney will be woke forever? No! I personally think that after seeing that their first non-woke project since is now the 8th highest grossing movie EVER, they will change. This movie is inside out 2 btw which I thought was PHENOMENAL! So in response to this I think with the new changes and rewriting that went into the script that Snow White will be a pretty great retelling of the 1937 classic. I can’t wait to see it. One more thing that was getting backlash was the dwarves being CGI. I definitely think that it would have been better if they got real people with dwarfism to play the roles but literally all of the Disney remakes are PACKED with CGI so I am not in the slightest surprised by the heavy amount of CGI in the film. neither the dwarfs or the romantic lead were taken out, they were always part of the film just not exactly as the original, for example the dwarfs while still being dwarfs and having those designs, will not be called like that in the film, they will be referred as just "magical creatures", this due to Peter Dinklage and the dwarfism community making a complain about the film bringing up stereotypes about what roles do they fit in the industry and how they are represented, which I think is totally valid; on the part for the prince, he will not be a prince on the movie, he will be a bandit with his own crew on the forest called Jonathan, but he will fill the role of "the prince" in the live-action as her romantic lead, and I actually think this change is for the better bcs we might get an actual great character with layers and a more interesting and compelling arc, also Andrew Burnap, the actor who plays him, is such a great broadway star, I bet they would give him a song, I'm excited ppl have been giving for months so much misinformation about what Rachel initially said or criticized of the original movie that it only came to one hateful person to put words on her mouth and then the internet run with it and started a hate campaign based in only misoginy, lies and racism, and she didn't deserve a bit of it

In order to justify her casting, Disney retconned the story of snow white to explicitly remove the reference to her skin being white as snow. Had someone done that with any other character not white in the origin story to accomodate the casting of a white actor, there would have been hell in the media coverage of it. Double standard.
