'The best way to know a man is to see what he carries everyday'. Is this a real saying? I don't know, but it's going to be for this and future episodes in this series. I want to get to know my guests by looking at what they carry in their daily camera bags when out shooting. My first guest for this series is award winning photo journalist John Lehmann of the Globe and Mail. John shares with us what he carries while working, and why he carries certain items. Thank you so much for watching and for your support with your likes and subscribing to my channel.

John Lehmann is the master. Used to moonlight working sports and news for a weekly. Getting back into news coverage now that I transition into career 2.0 his process and gear bag review was fantastic. Thank you 8 years later.

I don't usually write comments and never on KZbin material, but I just find Take's videos so delightful. Happy, enthusiastic and nice, but informative and fun to watch. Such a nice break from all the cranky (mostly) men reviewing photography gear. Also, so interesting and fun to hear Mr Lehmann talk about photography as a professional-how gear is important, but as tools. Thank you for these great videos Take.

Completely agree with Eric , all your videos are great. Never miss them because they're fun and very informative. I'm a fuji nut and am hoping for a true monochrome from Fuji because I believe they would whoop everyone and in much better retro style. Thanks Take, LarryMac

That was great, guys! Very informative, down to earth (well, for photography lovers and geeks, at least, he he), so easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing, not just the gear, but the simple fact that you're wonderful nice people. Hope to see John again soon on the show, I guess we all look up to him in a way, for the brilliant professional that he is. So again, thank you :)

I usually don't really like What's in my bag video, unless the photographer impresses me. And John really is. I really like him. You : it aint cheap. John : I don't know You : what's the pro name of Nikon lenses ? John : I don't know, they're very sharp You : O you're still using the oldest CF cards, because there is a new card... John : (thinking) "I don't know and probably don't care" You : you forgot your lens cap John : I don't use lens cap (pretty sure he doesn't use UV filter either) Plus, John has Filson bags. Thanks BHT. :)

Hey Take, if you are still looking for a sexy notebook. Take a look at the Midori Travellers Notebook. Pricey but nice and it will fit nicely in your back pocket. You can even put your passport in it when you travel. It's a modular design.

+Wayne G the Minolta M-Rokkor 40mm f/2. It's basically the same as the Leica 40mm f/2 Summicron, both made for the collaboration Minolta CLE and Leica CL rangefinder cameras, both M mount cameras. The major advantage of the Minolta is that the lens is multi-coated, which also became a disadvantage as some models had hazing over time. It's a great lens that is way underpriced for what it can do. I think Japan Camera Hunter listed it in his top 10 unique M-mount lenses. Thanks for watching.

+bigheadtaco Thanks for the info... Sounds like a very interesting lens; something I didn't realise existed. I picked up an M Monochrom recently and it looks like it suits it very well. My search just turned up a gold plated CLE but at £2.5k, I might leave that :-D The lens alone does look very well priced though so I'm going to try and find one, because, you know, I really need yet another lens :-D Have a great Xmas and new year!

Take is talking a lot because, as a good host, he is asking all the questions we the viewers would probably want to ask. This keeps the interview from trailing off into pure banter. I appreciate what he is doing because I got a lot of information out of it and a lot of questions answered that I wouldn't have if he had just let John tell you what everything is and be done with it. Also, Filson makes killer gear.

+no name thanks for the comment. Yes, people do not see the background talk before any interview begins. Some are really talkative and I have to steer conversation back on subject. Other times my guests freeze up and I assure them that I'll do most of the talking. Other times parts are edited out (which my producer does sometimes) and it looks like I'm doing all the talking but I'm not. And yes, other times I talk too much! Ha ha. But thanks for commenting and thanks for watching.
