I like the way that you went with your possible bag and what I do with my short starter besides the flat area that you made is to drill and bed in the middle of the flat is a small shallow hole slightly larger than the diameter of your ramrod end so that the ball end of the short starter will act as a palm saver it helps in cold weather a lot

I like the bag and am wondering about the cost also nice job on the small bags on the short starter in the center of the flat area that you made so that it will sit flat on the side of the bag I would drill a shallow hole for the end of the ram rod to fit in so that the short starter is also a palm saver plus a small screw eye off set slightly spirit of the short or long leg to be able to attach a retractable lanyard to it so that you don't lose it. Great work looks nice

I like the setup that you have but since you are using pillow ticking with your round balls I am surprised that you do not have a patch knife that you use to cut patches or do you I did not see one also on your shirt starter I would also drill a shallow hole ( divot) for the end of your ram rod to sit in so that it also acts as a palm saver and if you drill and place a small screw eye in the top end of your short starter you can use a retractable lanyard with it so as not to lose it in the woods. It will help with a touch of modern with classic. Keep your powder dry and good hunting.

Nice gear setup but I would drill a small shallow hole on the flat side of your ball starter to fit the end of your ram rod into to use it as a palm saver also I use on mine a retractable lanyard for the short starter just as a safety issue to keep from losing the short starter it works great and it allows a full use for getting to the muzzle of your fire arm for loading and I also use both an in line and a side lock cap and ball muzzle loader depending on the type of hunting I am doing either in close hard woods/hemlock or open fields and wood lots but either way it is a lot of fun also on my in line I use raised see thrue scope rings just in case I have a sudden transition to pine/hemlock woods easier to see game that way than using a scope and trying to pick out deer thrue the branches.

Good question.. I've never needed one as I have never had a patch get stuck during cleaning. But am going to order one now you said that.
